BSNL sucks for me at least The bsnl upload is also crap only 64kbps which makes seeding a pain and half the time the link is down and it seems to work perfectly between 2-8 in the morning.

Airtel refused to give connection to me saying my house is not serviceable but they are giving connx to all who are living 10m ahead of me

I think airtel may give connx if they find many customers willing to get connx from them.

When I asked Airtel to connect me, they didnt have connectivity in my area. They dug the passage and made a new connection from across the road only for my house....

I guess they expected to get more connections from my area, but whatever..... I was lucky. They laid the new cables only for me.

And abt torrents, I was downloading something else just now and was getting 28-30kBps download speed....it depends on the torrents....

But 28-30kBps should be easily possible....

damn airtel still not available in Bandra....been calling them up for the past 4 months and so many parts of mumbai connected....Bandra where they can really make their money and destroy the Reliance monopoly doesn't seem to be high on their priority list

You, read it, Airtel's the best. Im in Gurgaon and hav got a 1100 a unlimited month plan with 25-30kbps stable download speeds in the day and about 50-60 after 12.00!! . It's called freedom combo plan or something.

Tata has been fantastic for be till now... I get around 31-32KB/s down and 40+ KB/s up to most sites. There was one downtime for arnd 14hrs in the past year which was cos of a stupid tall truck which was unloading in front of my house and snapped the cable . They fixed it the very next day which was a sunday . Other than that, no issues at all... awesome speeds, pings to sg are around 100 and most importantly TATA gives you something no one else does... a static IP so you can run servers if you want or connect to your machine from outside and a true 1:1 dedicated, non shared connection and the speeds are the same all day. AFAIK the contention ratio for airtel is 1:2 and for BSNL its 1:4.

Go around and talk to your neighbors. Ask a few people if they wanna move over to Airtel (you are doing them a favor ). Then call Airtel, tell them you want 4 (minimum) connections of Airtel, and watch them come to your place in 15 minutes to fill up the paperwork. Thats exactly what I did 2 months ago and met 2 very pretty girls i dint know lived near my place

another main thing for karan would be pings to SG servers as well..so BSNL is definately out....or he could have 2 connections...1 to play online games & other for download & upload...

I am getting good upload speeds on a 128K/64K connection.



Hmm, if this is true, I will just stick to Sify and shift to the 256K unlimited plan.

Whatever u get from Sify, id still take Airtel anyday. Been extremely satisfied wit them for the past 6 months. Slight glitches in bill payment but connection has been excellent. For the connection, ask Rio, he has a friend who works in Airtel, maybe he can help you with it
