Well unless people are giving away stuff for free on TE, any sale listed in the market section makes some money to the seller. And please do note that more often than not, members manage to sell of their junk at a better price than what they would be getting in the open market because the deals are specific and need based. And the buyers benefit because they end up paying lower than the open market for even used stuff. TE marketplace basically eliminates the middleman and therefore his margins.

I know how the market section works here. But that is not the only reason TE is here. That is what I was saying. Amarbir makes it sound like, this is the only purpose of TE. To make money. See the reply he had put to, vivacious_tg's post. I clearly feel, Bhullar Boys [BB], is fraudulent in this deal. And all the members are correct in him clearing out his name. Why has he not refunded till date. Why so slippery to catch on phone..? Instead of being all go-go sweet on sellers, think of the buyers plight also. He has been committed a refund 2x time, why has it not been done. BB mentioned some issues with HDFC banking protocols, which later on were proven to be false. And you really think if the buyer here is trying to pull of a quick deal, he will go to this lengths and involve the police, it would have been vice-versa.
Agupta Sir ,

Asingh thinks only his sense is not wrapped ,Cos IMHO all sellers make money ,even when they sell old stuff ,Asingh have you ever visited chandigarh ,come over to lynx dude and i will show you how money is made on forums by sellers .Lol what a comment .BTW Agupta sir i think the customer is creating fuss for no reason now .sometimes even we have stuff piled for 3 to 6 months before its sold ,So that does not mean we cannot get warranty .lol what a thread

I know, sellers/dealers make money from forums. See what you replied to, that is why I quoted your gem of a post. Do not just pick up text in context and try to put interpretations of your own into it.

PLUS Amarbir, this place is a gathering of people who are passionate about computers and technology, NOT passionate about selling/retailing the same. Yes hardware exchange for monetary benefits is part of the bundle, but not the prime focus here.

Well ,

I Still find nothing wrong in the stuff ,Just as customer said he lied and sold stuff ,All lie and sell stuff right ,thats called trading .You get for rs :1000 and wanna sell it for Rs :1100 ,you tell the customer sir this is my best price i am making just rs :25/- lol .Anyways

What you are talking about is a complete different scenario than what has happened here. Its not wrong to sell at a higher price as long as its not higher than MRP. Even for second hand sales there is nothing wrong about it. Also people know that manufacturing date and warranty dates are not necessarily the same.

The question in discussion is not whether the warranty starts from June 2009. The point here is that the seller promised a warranty of 2 years 9 months where as now he claims its only 2 years 6 months. Now thats a straightway loss of solid 3 months (roughly 10%) warranty from what was originally stated in the sale thread. The seller stated that the product was purchased in Apr 2010 and now claims it was purchased in Jan 2010. Had the seller been talking about 5 years back, I could understand him forgetting whether he bought the said item in Jan or Apr, but now in hell could one forget in May/June of same year (2010) whether he bought the product in previous month (Apr) or 3~4 months back (Jan). Now that is a bit too large to swallow and the only explanation I have for that is that its an intent to deceive on the part of the seller.

Bhullar repeatedly claims that there is no issue related to warranty and everything has been cleared up, but I don't see that is the case. Even if we leave the issue of Manufacturing date and a bill which looks as it its been tampered, we are still left with the issue that the warranty was not as it was originally promised (and a good 3 months short) and that its not an accidental mistake (as I explained above). His past record does not help his case either. At this point, I believe the only way for him to salvage his reputation is to do what the buyer has asked (refund money and take back his processor). Failing to do so is itself a clear indication of his intent.

Agreed TE has a much higher purpose and the marketplace is just one small part of it.

Now coming back to the topic at hand...BB has committed to refund and as he has committed, so he should refund the money no questions about it. But I wouldn't go as far as calling him fraudulent for the simple reason that chetansha has a product which works AND which has valid warranty AND which was sent in lieu of an earlier product which turned out to defective for whatever reason. Now the issue is that BB said that he bought the product at a X date whereas the bill says that it was bought at a Y date. Chetansha further goes on to claim that the product is actually mfg at a Z date and hence BB has lied to him about the warranty. The questions comes down to warranty. IMO, a three month warranty loss spread over 3 years is acceptable if you're getting a good price. In this case, a mature buyer could have requested BB to get a new copy of the bill so that in case there is a RMA, issues would not crop up due to overwriting on the bill, which can be taken care of easily if BB would show the old bill to the dealer and get a new one made in its lieu. No dealer would refuse to do such a thing. The warranty becomes applicable from the date of the sale not from the date of manufacturing otherwise Xbox360 cores would not be selling still.

Now if the price is not good in terms of the warranty loss, chetansha could also renegotiate with BB to get some partial refund in lieu of flawed warranty. There can be various ways of solving an issue.

Please understand, BB has not dumped a ratty piece of hardware onto chetansha. He has given a working piece wherein there is some minor dispute over the warranty. So I wouldn't call him out and out fraudulent, maybe not a good seller but certainly not fraudulent. Imagine a scenario had he not replaced the defective piece sent originally. That WOULD have been fraudulent.

A 3 month warranty loss maybe acceptable, but I think what's not acceptable to the buyer is that he has been lied to and the resulting loss of trust.

As for him being fraudulent

Fraud | Define Fraud at Dictionary.com

deceit, trickery, sharp practice, or breach of confidence, perpetrated for profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage.

I think he was banned earlier for acts of deceit and trickery. Even in this case, I just don't get how he can genuinely make a mistake about month of sale within this year unless it was done deliberately.

guys who r saying i am lying for all those guys.... i tell chetan about warranty status in pm ..i havent remember properly i ask for 2.9 yrs but on seeing bill i tell him about warrnty status ...on that time he is not having any issue with warrnty after 1week of receiving damage cooler( when i send tx3 as replacement to him) then he starts talking about warranty ....i replaced tx2 with tx-3 becoaz hdfc not taking cash frm 3rd party and there is no branch of bank of mysore in amritsar but chetan dont want to listen a single of mine just only wants that he wants and for chetan if there is any buyer in bhatinda why shouldnt u sell the stuff to him .....i am not going to take the stuff back if there is any such buyer in bhatinda then u sell the stuff to him.....

Have you ever skimmed on paying the parking guy just cuz he didn;t show up when you were leaving the lot? Do you try to manipulate the tax rules in order to save some taxes? Do you regularly buy products from your local shops and either don't ask for the bill or settle for a cash parchi? Have you ever paid a bribe? Have you ever lied to your parents? Do you in general, make use of simple white lies and manipulations to save some money or just to make your life a little easier? If your answer to anyone of the questions above is a YES, then according to your definition sir, even you are a fraud.

I do have my account in State Bank of Mysore. i have explained to you that you do not need to go to State bank of Mysore to deposit money in my account. All you need to do is go to the same bank - Punjab National Bank where i sent you the money, go to the cash counter, ask for a NEFT form. Fill it up and put in the details of my account, hand over the cash to the cashier and your work is done.

YOU DO NOT NEED AMY OWN BANK OR ITS BRANCHES IN YOUR PLACE TO SEND A NEFT.

Just got in touch with the cyber crime department, given them the facts, print out of this discussion, print out of the OP thread, print out of the private messages. They have taken up this matter and further advised me to lodge a FIR in a police station near me, and to be followed by a legal notice from my lawyer.

But Life is governed by definations in Law. And according to the Law, Bhullar boys is/are a fraud.

14th June-7th July I think this is the longest ever discussion on feedback section and still the case pending....

It doesn't look good that for a small Amount (although its a big thing) case is filed against You.

Its always better to solve within yourself and involve mods if necessary.

I don`t know whose fault it is But I think Bhullar you should have stuck to your words....!!

Good on you chetan , its because we have a weak law & order system frauds take advantage and just spoil the trip for everyone involved. I hope the right action gets taken and I hope in the future also more people try and take action like you have. It is a hassle it might just increase the frustration but if you do not try to use the system it will not improve and we will just carry on as "chalta hai" .

I just skimmed through the comments on the previous page and I am at a loss for words I am not even going to try reading anything else lol clearly common sense is not so common. :P

Any sort of trickery and deceit for your personal gain counts as fraud. So yes, all those scenarios you put forward count as a form of fraud. Did anyone really say otherwise. If you really think they do not count as fraud, then you have a very twisted sense of fraud. Of course not all forms of fraud get counted as fraud by the law, but most of the things you mentioned are criminally fraud. I never indulged in any of those criminal fraud activities you mentioned like Tax Evasion, paying bribes, cooking bogus bills though I would not count myself a saint either in all aspects. Yeah its easy if life is governed by dictionary definitions, but then people twist those definitions to console their conscience that things like Tax Evasion do not count as fraud.

I believe no one is there for trading on TE we are here to share/get knowledge about what's going on in our beloved world of Computing. As far as Member's market is concerned it is there to sell off extra stuff that we don't use anymore & strictly not for making money or profit.

Great ,

But people make money right,All of us know that

Your sense of TE is warped.

asingh sir-

That is a quite offensive comment imho.

Amarbir sir's sense of TE is perfect in his context.

He joined TE as a dealer and a dealer he is even if not a dealer on TE anymore.

He is correct in his own way and people will be what they are as per their own needs/convenience. :)

Bikey's theorem: Humans are aliens now (read- have alienated themselves) -

Proof:

There was a time when one used to be greatly pleased at the sight of a bright and intelligent person (in terms of knowledge and intellect) as it was not a very common sight.

But humans have evolved and how.

He who is selfless (or maybe not selfish either though not selfless exactly) and doesn't desire or crave for wealth/profit/luxury/... is termed a fool.

And now it's very rare to spot such a fool.

So almost all humans are highly intelligent now.

And we have been searching for life more intelligent than us for centuries.

And humans are way more intelligent than they were when they began their search.

So most humans are aliens now.

... Hence proved.
