Graphic Cards BIG 6600 256MB PCIE is BFG OEM or not?

Hi dudes,

I have a PC with the following config.

Intel P4 3.0 Ghz HT
Intel 915 GAV MOBO
512 MB DDR
80GB HDD
CD Writter
DVD Drive
TV Tuner Card
Internal Modem
Web Cam
800 watts Speakers
15" CRT Monitor
422 watts zebronics SMPS
500 VA UPS
Now I want to buy a BIG 6600 nonGT 256MB PCIE card.But my friend told me only BIG 6600GT is the BFG OEM.Other BIG cards are not BFG OEM.Is it true or not? And also tell me about the performance of the BIG 6600 nonGT 256 MB PCIE.

Thanks for your replies.Games like DOOM3 required 256 MB video memory.So I would like to go on for a 6600 nonGT 256MB( GT version having 128MB).Why not iam going for the BIG If BIG 6600 nonGT is a OEM of BFG?
 
Sorry dude.If future games need 256MB which is the better one 6600GT with 128MB or 6600nonGT with 256MB and also tell about the performance of BIG cards.

Well there is a major fallacy in that argument of urs. By that logic, a 256MB fx5200 shud be faster than a 128MB 9800 pro :p. The 128MB GT will perform a lot lot better than the 256MB vanilla... even in video memory limited situations like doom 3/hl2/bf2. Its cos its not the quantity of memory that matters.... its the speed of the memory. A GT has GDDR3 RAM which is clocked at 1GHz whereas a vanilla 6600 has either 500MHz or 550MHz ram. Also the core of the vanilla is at 300MHz whereas the GT is 500MHz. Makes a hell lot of difference in shader limited situations. The 6600 vanilla is not fast enough to utilize the 256MB of memory. Hell even the 6600GT is not fast enough to use 256MB of memory effectively. So its best to go for the 128MB GT at that price point. To utilize the 256megs of memory, u need a card atleast as fast as a 6800GT/ X800XL.
 
Yup.... you are falling into the typical Indian psychological trap. Bigger is better..... It is NOT true.

The 6600GT has many other things going for it like the DDR3 RAM, the pipelines and faster core speed.....

Just take our word for it and go for the GT. If you still want to shoot yourself in the ffot, go ahead and buy a 6600 256MB.

If I would go for the 6600Gt which is the best brand(available in India (Chennai))
 
BIG branded cards are easily available in chennai. head over to shops like delta in ritchie street

You can go for it... However if you want an original DVD of farcry for free along with the card, u can get the XFX 6600GT for around the same price.

I have no clue abt the other cards as i said earlier. maybe somebody else can shed some light.
