Hi guys,
wanted to get some feedback on how to proceed with Airtel here,

the story so far is that i am currently onsite in Oz, got my landline and broadband disconnected on 9th Sep by going to the Airtel store and returning the instruments and paying all the outstanding dues.

However i have recived a bill with outstanding dues again from them, i have tried to mail them so many times to make them understand what i am trying to tell them, However they keep raising tickets on which they never get back.
And whenever they get back by mail they say, " we understand that you have queries regarding your cancellation request which is not processed and we are looking into it".

Now this cancellation request was raised by me prior to my arriving here, but when i realized that they wont act on it, i myself went to the store and got it done.

Now how do i bring this issue to closure? Any escalation mechanisms mechanisms in place?

do u have the reciept of your returning the modem and other instruments back with you ? I was told to clear my dues in corporate office not airtel store .You cannot make your final payment in airtel store if yur connection was disconnected.

Call the nodal officer instead of mailing him. You can get the number from Airtel CC. It usually works out faster in this way.

Call up NODAL officers. Take number from their website.

Tell them the complaint number.

FASTEST Way !

thanks for the response guys,

so i need to get the nodal officers no which i can find on their website, anyone has the direct link?

also since i am in Oz its difficult for me to call them in India and also i have the receipts but not here :(

Get the receipts scanned and any other proof of you returning the equipment.

Write a strong message mentioning the same issue. Attach the copies and send it to nodal officer. Hopefully that should solve it.

If even this doesnt go anywhere, just sit tight with your receipts in a safe place. Just dont reply to anything by airtel.

My friend had a similar problem with Reliance few years back. Even after repeated submissions of the proof, they went to court. My friend's father produced all the records showing full payment and return of equipments. Reliance was fined for bringing in a useless case to court.

I was also having some billing issues same like yours with airtel
Found online consumer forum "CORE" and lodged complaint against them ,it took time for around a month or two but the issue was resolved .

Thanks to all,
lemme c what i can do here, or otherwise i will sit tight till i get back to India and then take it forward.
Since i dont have the receipts here with me i cant take that path.

Thanks

If the address where your airtel connection was installed is not your permanent address, leave them and relax. or tell somebody in neighbourhood that if someone from airtel comes tell them that I am in Australia..

I had similar issue about 2 years back, My room partner always refused to entertain Airtel guy and 2 months later none of them showed up. I even have the modem with me :-)

And when I cam back i got new connection using same modem as my own modem..

@jalanbk, its my own house so no running from there :(, anyways i have sent a mail to nodal officer and received another ticket no :(
