bio medical degree or honours in microbiology??

hi everyone.

my friend`s sis got a offer from this university from lancashire.. she can do either a bio-medical degree or honours in microbiology..
now which one would be better for her in terms of career prospects, job, and life after the course...
please help me on this..

I dont know anything about microbiology but i can tell ya 1 thing about Bio medical.
Its future is very bright. Its a new field with lots of opportunities.
I am doing my Biomedical from D.J. Sanghvi and plan to do PG in this field only.
And europe is where all the major research work is going on. Major biomedical players are based in europe.
You can do specialisation in Medical instrumentation, imaging, Biomechanics etc etc.
But beware. Many people confuse this with biotechnology. This is not biotechnology. Biotech is very wide area and you have to do some sort of PG and concentrate on 1 field there.
biomedical is limited to advancement and studies of medical instmentation and electronics. A lot of biomedical course involves electronics. And deep knowledge of electronics. Many people get disappointed to see these kind of subjects in Bio medical. So do your research before hand. This is not the field that deals with genetics and stuff. That comes under biotechnology.
Biomed concentrates itself regarding medical technology for humans.
Of course you can do PG in other field afterwords but not recommanded really.
The part to concentrate these days is medical imaging. Its most flurrishing field within biomedical and the most complicated and also most interesting.
Pass on this information to her. Many people dont know this about Biomedical. They think biotech and biomedical is one and the same which is not the case.
