guys, have this doubt for a very long time about firewall. I am using Bitdefender total security 2010 and it comes with a firewall. What happens is for programs like yahoo messenger, opera, etc the firewall auto configures itself. But for some softwares for example if i run a trainer program in a game to work (for some trainer apps) it asks whether to allow them or deny.
What should i do in such cases, Allow or deny ?
In some applications like way2sms and internet download manager ( please refer pics) it displays like this ( I have erased the IP address and port number for safety)
In simple terms....
If some applications (like a game trainer) has to access the local files on my computer is it always better to ALLOW it ?
AND
If some applications (like IDM ) request access to a foreign site, should i always deny it.
Some Apps ask to access destination 0.0.0.0. In this case should i allow or deny ?
this firewall concept is baffling ... please explain friends.. In what situation should i ALLOW and in what situation i should DENY
