Blackberry or other for fiance budget 18K

I am thinking of buying black berry for my fiance. How much will bold cost in used market? I am thinking of buying an unlocked one as the new ones are quite expensive. Storm i have heard is quite sluggish so skipped it. What other phones can i buy at this price. I myself use an iphone 3g so wanted something different for her. But have no problem going with iphone if need be.
Kindly suggest?
 
For under 18k , you could get the blackberry 8520(around 14k now ) ...if you only want a blackberry

Or you could get the nokia 5800XM or samsung jet

For Eseries go for E71 - 17k(Not at all vfm)
For 5 megapixel camera go for N79 - 15k
For Touchscreen phone go for Nokia 5800XM - 13.8k
 
I dont like E71 at all its too common, i am not fixed with black berry but wanted give something nice at 18K which is not very common. I dont want to give just another nokia phone so 5800 is out as it is storm is anyday better than 5800.

How is black berry storm? I am getting a deal on a excellent new phone for 17K few months old and one scratched for 13.5K. Both with complete accessories. I also like black berry 8520. From where can i get it new at 14K as mentioned whats the main difference between Bold and 8520 to justify the price difference?
 
bb storm with the new os 5.0 is an improvement, but you could do better. get a bb 8520 instead.
 
Please bear in mind that BB is nothing without BB connection and BB connection is too damn costly. I used Sony Ericsson P990i with internet facility on it and my bill used to be around 2k. Then I shifted to BB 8900 Curve and when using for same amount of download data my bill jumped to over 4k!! Since I badly needed mailing/internet facility on the move I had to settle for unlimited connection which surely lightens my pocket more than I would like. :(
 
^^ a bb unlimited plan is for rs. 899. if u were paying 2k with internet earlier, with an unlimited bb plan, it should go upto around 2.5k? and i thought that the bb data plans were similar to the normal operator plans...???
 
Vodafone and Airtel have launched unlimited BB plans for 7k/year. Good deal if you're locked in with them. @ the OP - your choice..if you want a good trouble free phone, stick with a Nokia E71 or E75, or a BB 8520: avoid all the Samsung phones in that price range.
 
Hey guys how about BB bold? Getting a deal on it for 16K am thinking of going ahead with it. My fiance is not much on internet user on Mobile but will normal GPRS also not work with BB? I hate E71 its so common. I would go for iphone if not blackberry. Please tell me pros and cons of Blackberry Bold against 8520? Thanks.
 
The Blackberry 8520 is a mid range device.

It has a trackpad (a first in blackberry's) rather than a trackball

The cons:
2mp cam without flash
Plastic build
QVGA resolution display

But considering the price factor(~ 13k) ,I think its a decent option..

All the website will open except gmail:@(on vodafone) and i hate E71 for the same reason

Dont really know the difference but the blackberry looks way much better than the iphone no hard feelings but thats my opinion
 
My fiance is pretty much stuck on Storm, What do you people suggest how good or bad is it? She thinks am buying it for myself but its for her thats a surprise.
 
nokia n79 white version (13,900) is a beauty. Just gifted my girlfriend few weeks back. and she's happy with it.
BB Storm is good too. (Current Price 19,700)
And if you are getting a deal for BB Bold at 16k. Then go for it eyes closed.

Normal GPRS works on a Blackberry with lots of limitations. You may want to read this article on my blog.
