Hello All,

I bought the BB PlayBook 64GB from Flipkart.

After the initial setup it started updating the playbook to OS 2.0. The update was of around 525MB and for some reason it got stuck at 480MB and came up with an error message message. I clicked on retry but that dint work. So I restarted the PB and this time it directly went to the screen "Checking for updates"and then came up with an error message " Could not connect to the update server (2011)".

So after some quick research online I tried updating the PB using BB Desktop Software, but the progress was very slow and after waiting for three hours it was only 30% and after some time it gave me an error message stating that it could not update. My internet connection speed is 2Mbps.

I took a leave today just to play around with this device :-(

Can someone help me fix this? Any similar experiances?

your playbook comes with 90 days free tech support, so go online register for it and than shoot a call to tech sypport (toll free). Alternatively I guess there has to be a hard reset in playbook (to bring it back to original state). google it.

I will contact support if I were you as hard reset may remove certain apps from your playbook (if they are not part of OS image on ROM). Most probably it will be having difficulty connecting with RIM servers.
So yeah give them a call,

Playbook needs to have a good wifi signal during the updates. in general for all BB devices best to use DM for updates. Sometimes RIM servers are unavailable, in such times, updates and app world don't work smoothly.

I have a good WiFi connection but still this happened. But now since everything is set I am just loving this device. :-) Thank you for advise guys!
