was downloading a torrent. found something new in the sense that a whole range of ip addresses

198.151.211.1-198.151.211.254

38.99.253.1-38.99.253.254

64.93.91.1-64.93.91.254

64.93.88.1-64.93.91.254

198.151.211.231
:@

starting from this particular domain

in-addr.arpa domain

were hogging the place of genuine peers :@ , hence that particular torrent was getting only abt 5-10 kbs speed instead of normal 30-35kbs speed.

finally managed to create a working ipfilter.dat file and block these ips.

speeds come to around 35kbps and i can see only genuine peers in the list now.

see before and after images to believe me. wonder who that satan minded b$$hit is who is behind this. :@ :@ let him turn in his grave FOREVER :@ :@

before ip filters:

after ip filters:

any one of u ppl faced a situation like this before?

if u r using utorrent u can even look at using ipfilter to filter spurious ips. just download the latest version of ipfilter.dat , copy it to utorrent working folder(local settings\user\app data\utorrent)and enable an option in utorrent properties to use the same.

installed the peerguardian lite version - seems it was created by paranoid ppl fearing every ip address on the planet!!

cannot connect to world community grid servers if this is pg blocking is enabled.

so cannot report tasks or download new work, hence i've disabled it now.

think i'll use my own ipfilter list to block out unwanted ips. :)
