I been planning since long to purchase some really good BR Documentaries for building a collection.
Few titles which have been coming up as suggestions again and again:
1) Planet Earth - 9.6/10
2) Life - 9.4/10
3) Blue Planet - 9.3/10
4) Frozen Planet -9.3/10
And few queries which have been lingering on:
1) Your views on replay value and rating.
IMDB is good, but a local pov will be welcome always. Somebody told me Planet earth was akin to taking sleeping pills.
2) Which edition ?
Complete/Extended/xyz. Basically the fine points differentiating various editions of a particular title.
This also includes the query IF a DVD edition of the same title has any extras which BR will NOT be including.. and ofc resolving of the dilemma, whether and are those extras really worth a watch.
Planet earth for eg has a complete set edition consisting of 4 discs, and still DOESNT includes extra which are there on the DVD as i have been informed.
I would certainly like to get one with everything on it, or atleast the worthy content. (LOTR's never ending extended releases comes to mind. :Shudders: )
3) Cheapest pricing possible?
Includes Indian retailers, as well as sourcing from abroad.
You never know who might be dropping by from their trip.
4) Other Suggestions?
Definitely would like more suggestions on similarly good/brilliant documentaries.
5) (Last but not the least..
If anybody locally has it in any format [BR/DVD] and if you can allow a preview, will be great. )
