I have Philips HTS 5530 and want to buy Blu ray player and connect it to HT.

Query is will the absence of DTS HD MA or DD tru HD will have sigificant impact on quality of sound as Philips HTS5530 only supports DTS,DD5.1.

Your hts has coaxial in. So look for blu ray player with digital or coaxial out and connect it to hts through coaxial in. By this way you will get all type of surround sound effect that your hts supports.

No the perceived difference on entry level HTIBs are very very low. Maybe a 1L+ system could make a difference which can actually be felt to the average user.
