Hello!
I have just ordered an Android-powered car DVD head unit and while it has everything I need, I realized later that it doesn't come with a remote control. It does connect to my steering wheel remote, but I'd still like to be able to control it from the back seat, since I often have a chauffeur.
What I'm looking for is a compact, preferably Bluetooth-based remote control (since there is no IR port on the device) that works for skipping music tracks and volume control, at the very least. I'm not even sure if such a thing exists.
I have seen plenty of remote controllers, some with mouse/keyboard functionality as well, but they're all seemed to be designed for Google TV/Android set top box devices. Do you think these will work with any Android device?
My last resort is to purchase an inexpensive tablet, such as the Ambrane D77 and using that as an AVRCP controller for the player. However, I was unable to confirm if the D77 actually has Bluetooth. It costs a measly Rs. 3,890.
I do like the tablet idea, because I can actually have full-featured access to the library as well as full control, but I want to explore to single handed remote control option too.
Any recommendations?
Thanks!
Update: Turns out that image I posted above is of a product exactly like the one I'm looking for! Satechi's Bluetooth remote might just do the trick for me and it only costs Rs. 2,000 (in the US, without shipping) - . Hmmm!
