I have read all 3 books of Chetan Bhagat and liked his way of writing where in i dont have to keep a dictionary beside me while reading.....My friend is coming from Mumbai in 2 days, I want him to get me some books which are easy to read like the chetan bhagat's books, and fun like five point someone.
So ppl please suggest some good books and also suggest a place to buy near by city center in Mumbai....

You are Here by Meenakshi Reddy Madhavan :bleh:

If you like Chetan Bhagat ... you deserve Indian chick lit as well

Need something which has a plot of young people, college, hostel etc also with a mix of Humour...something like Five Point Someone had :)

^+1 for that... amazing read... even better ending...

Would also recommend "Anything for you, ma'am - Tushar Raheja".. Beautiful story.. a bit over the top but still a nice read

On a side note, Chetan Bhagat's Book #2 was so atrocious , I couldn't muster enough courage to read the 3rd

Well, my bookstore is selling a lot of the white tiger and the zoya factor being sold out constantly. Chetan Bhagat also has written 3 mistakes which sells every now and then. If you want, you can come to my book store:

Ensign book store,

537, Linking road,

Next to ADIDAS showroom,

Khar West, Mumbai-400052.

Phone number 022-26464317.

Hungry Tide - Amitav Ghosh (Actually all Amitav Ghosh books are a must read)

Hullabaloo(sp?) in the Guava Orachard - Anita Desai

Inheritance of Loss - Anita Desai (last 50 pages suck b4lls IMO).

Midnights Children/Satanic Verses - Salman Rushdie

Q: What does Chetan Bhagat have in common with J. K. Rowling?

A: Fame and glory they never deserved.

10/10

^^ Totally agree. I really liked his 2nd one (ONCC). It was on par (if not better) than his first one. The latest one was surely a big disappointment.

Anything for you ma'am is also a good read. Not comparable to FPS, but its good enough for a casual read :)

I threw 5 point someone once I found out (before the end) that it was completely fiction. Haven't read it completely even now. I was kicked about the fact that it was real hence I was hooked to it initially. Midnight's children is a good read (not casual read, though).

Guess that sums up Mr. Bhagat's writing skills then

on a side note, grab a copy of sea of poppies by Amitava Ghose

Good story complimented by extraordinary linguistic skills (Trust me, you won't need a dictionary for it, actually a dictionary won't even help)

Try deciphering "Charter your chute" for example...

I'll post the complete phrase when everyone has given up

I would rather bang the...

Haven't read the book yet but a simple google search was enough. That shows Google is very well read and knows a lot :P
