A friend of mine uses an unlocked Huawei E177-u2 3G modem along with a Vodafone 3G plan on his Acer laptop . He get's a pretty good signal + speed outside but at the place where he is residing , there are signal issues and it drops so low that the connection keeps disconnecting and speeds are also pathetic.
While trying to find a sweet spot in the room for the best possible connection , he found that the only place where he was getting a good signal was near the window , which is like 4-5 feet away from his table/bed where the laptop is kept .
Is there any way he could get a better signal ?
This particular model has some metal strip/ connector externally for signal boost using external antenna . How easy is it to setup this ? Is it expensive ? Tried finding something online which is available locally but no info.
Is there any other solution to this issue ?
