boot logo???

Hey, how do i get rid of my initial boot logo? I have a compaq (yeah I know they suck.,temp PC until I finish affording to build my own) and when I first turn on the PC, in big bold red letters the word "COMPAC" pops up on my screen B4 anything starts loading. So question is how do I get rid of this first boot logo? I have searched high/low in all my windows files. Now I do notice when I'm in thumbnail view on my PC in the windows directory it shows the logo in the system32 folder, but I can't find it. It's like hiding in one of the many diff. files. So can any1 help me out here? thanks

well unfortunately since its a freaking compaq it has a compaq based mobo. So I do believe it has to do with the bios. just not sure how to go about getting rid of the logo. the stylexp I have and it only changes the logo after the compaq image, not the first initial compaq logo. this logo gets displayed before even going through the bios loading process then to the winxp loading screen. So anymore help on this would be great and thx for the attempted help guys, I really appreciate it. If any of ya might have some ideas what I can google or dogpile for would also be helpful along with some links ok? thnx

Yes, it has to be done with the BIOS only. No other way of doing it.

Probably you will have to flash your BIOS, if you can take that risk ;)

Post you mobo and comp model no, and we can look around for BIOSes without the boot logo...

Try SCSI's guide to modifying the BIOS, its in the Tutorials section...

It has nothing to do with windows or styleXP. It is your BIOS logo which can be removed by flashing.
There is no harm in flashing the bios just find the right bios image file for your mobo on the net and verify somehow that it is indeed what you want.

It is a bios boot logo, but guys, he has a compaq computer. It is unlikely that there will be custom/altrnative bioses floating around for that.
