Hi Guys

Today by mistake I formatted ( Planned) my laptop hard drive using windows Command FORMAT C:. As my laptop is very old ( P1 - 64 MB RAM- CDR only) I m unable to reboot it using even Win 98 bootable disk. I am unable to understand what to be done. If it is to be booted first by DOS cd and then to install 98 over itm I m unable to get/make DOS bootable CD.

Kindly suggest how to make DOS bootable Cd or anyother way to start my laptop. I have tries XP bootbale also but it says No System Disc message

Please Help

Regards & Happy HOLI !

did you format the HDD with 98 or XP ?

If 98 then boot from a 98 bootable sytem floppy disk and type "sys c:" - this will copy the system files required to boot the HDD. you also have to mark the C: partition as the active one via 98's fdisk. If you dont have a bootable 98 floppy look for it at www.bootdisk.com

If XP then you should insert the XP CD and install the OS and it will be bootable - It may ask you if you want to format the HDD in the beginning of the install process - let XP format the HDD again.
