I have the Asus P5KPL-CM mobo with Pentium D 820 and just installed a hyper 212 plus cooler to counter cooling problems on the CPU. The problem is whenever i make any changes to bios the moment i restart it says new CPU installed. please configure settings. then i have 2 options.
1. configure settings
2. load default settings
the only was i could go ahead was either discard changes or then load default and continue. So i cannot overclock at all. What could be the issue?

okay. did that. no change. now whats happening is that the settings are being saved. but i still get a message saying new CPU installed. Please configure. :@ I had removed the CPU from the socket to clean it and apply TIM.

did everything possible. name it. Refit cpu cleaned with alcohol, reapplied TIM, cleaned n reapplied TIM for northbridge, the fcked up part was when i i tried booting without ram it dint even beep. dint expect so much to go wrong while just changing the cooler! :P i must've been too rough. :P gave the board for RMA today. will be back by evening or tomorrow morning. :)
