Hey guys,
My system has been giving several booting issues for some time.Once it boots up its fine though.
Every time i switch it On,either of the following happens.
1.The POWER ON light on my Cabinet comes ON,but the Monitor doesn't switch ON but the CPU fan is.
2.The POWER ON light DOESN'T comes on my cabinet,The MONITOR still doesn't come ON,HDD's aren't running but the CPU fan is.
3.Same as above but keeps on re starting without any good :(

after a lot of attempts its boots up fine and works well till the next re boot :X

Could it be a failing Mobo?My PSU is only a year old. Please do help :)

Cheers

i see that you are using the coler master extreme PSU. i would look at that. its probably dead by now. also look at your motherboard.
those are the first two places i would look at for problems.

Tht died long back :) im using a Corsair VX550 now, sorry i forgot to mention it,my bad.and i cant seem to be able to update my signature too :23:

oh in that case, i would certainly look at the motherboard, but just to rule out the ram, start the pc without any ram installed and see if you get a beep or so.

I would suggest to go this way:

1. Try booting without any RAM & HDD
2. If yo get the beep, insert only one RAM and boot again.
3. Repeat above step with remaining RAM sticks.
4. Now try booting with HDD.

And REMOVE Graphics Card and insert it only after above steps are successful.

Hope this helps! :)

Thanks guys.will do.next time i switch off the PC :P.I had tried booting without any RAM yest when it wasnt booting at all.but the same issue was there.later put the RAM in and after several attempts, the PC started :-\.

Anyway ill try these out today and report back.

Thank you

Tried booting without the GFx card,HDD & RAM.Even reseted CMOS but still no response :-\
I take its the MoBo is dead?

Hi sorry to barge in the topic. I have the exact same problem. In my case though I am using the coolermaster iGreen 500 watt psu. My psu is almost 5 years old and the fan makes a very bad noise (like khat khat ) when it is running. So is it because of the PSU? The mobo is Asus P5KC. My hard disk according to Acronis drive monitor is perfectly fine. I have not checked the ram yet. How do I check if the mobo has a problem? I tend to restart several tinmes before it comes on. Does not happen always though. Only say once or twice a week but it is becoming more frequent now.

And when you start with RAM?
Does it start? Can you go to BIOS?
Nope.doesn't start :(
well see the thing is the System doesn't seem to start up even-though the fan is running.i think this issue is much before it goes into the POST even.every time i have tried disconnecting the RAM/GFX/HDD's it has been when the system isnt booting up.it takes a good 25 attempts every time to get it started :(

It seems that problem is with motherboard.
Check your it and see if there are any bloated capacitors.

And if Motherboard is in warranty, then give it for replacement.

Thanks Mr.J,will do the next time my PC has to be switched off :)
Any other way to test the Mobo?and i suppose the Service Center will check if its gone toast?

After a lot of struggle ive learned that my MoBo has gone toast :( bulged capacitors and seems chip-set is gone too and no way to fix it.
so now i need a new board and cant find ANY LGA775's in any stores and even online...any help guys?

thank you

I too had similar issue...
And I found that the Fan of my cooler master PSU was dead...
I would suggest taking a look at the PSU...
