Bose QuietComfort Noise Cancelling Headphones

Bose QuietComfort Noise Cancelling Headphones:

1. Anybody have these?

Do they block out noise? I.e.
-horns/exhaust noise cars on the road that your house/office is on
-someone talking right by you
-TV/kids in the next room
-drills/construction/pumpsets of neighbors

2. How is Bose for warranty service or customer service?

3. A number of people on Amazon have reported that their headphones break near the earmuff. Anybody have any experience with that, or has Bose changed their design now?

4. Are other options better for blocking noise? I.e., Sony MDR-NC50 Noise Canceling Headphones or noise-isolating earphones, Shure, or Etymotics? At what price are they available in India?

QuietComfort2 (boseindia.com):
BOSE INDIA

QuietComfort3:

Yeah.. Blo$e is a rip off.. don't go by it... although QuietComfort3 is good but costly, you can get similar results in other brands at lower prices.

Get a pair of IEMs... Altec Lansing im716, Ety ER4s, Shure e2c/e3c/e4c or a pair of closed cans like sennheiser hd280 pro.

Well, I have used them personally..they cant completly block....they block the continous sound...such as hmming noise....they do reduce the sound to a great extent.

All of them are available in india. Out of those, personally I'd chose the IM716 cos its priced the best and sounds amazing. Its actually designed by Ety and based on a modified ER4S design.

@Evilution: They block nothing... bose had got a contract for the american airforce to deliver noice cancellation headphones. All the 100k headphones that were purchased by the government were officially thrown away and bose was blacklisted since then. This is the same crap... in a different packaging . Bose sells on marketing. Their products are absolute rubbish for the kinda price you pay.

:) Do not always believe what others say...:) I have personally listened to BOSE and they are certainly not bad....I do not know if you have ultra sensititve sound quality measuring device instead of an ear:P :P

Of course price is expensive and they may be overcharging but quality is certainly not shit...

@raj_pol.. no one says quality is shit.. its just tht u dun get the worth for the money u pay.. with bose u pay double of wht they r worth.. but it doesnt mean quality is shit.

Have you ever compared Bo$e speakers with good audiophile setups (ofcourse at much lower cost)?
Bo$e never lets you compare their systems ever, any store that has Bo$e equipment is either exclusive Bo$e outlet or has an exclusive demo area for Bo$e.
They are only loud, the quality (and if you talk technically, the frequency response curve of their speakers) *is* shitty.. loud does not mean good..
