i didnt know those details about the 3.0
neways i feel 400dpi is too less for high res.... even on 1024X768 i use 1600dpi and cpl mousefix

well i used 1600dpi on my diamondback for a long time (about a year) before i changed to a wheel mouse optical which was 400dpi. i didn't notice any difference at all. just had to increase my sensitivity and i was back in action.

@The One : yes that's very true. a mouse is not really going to make you better at a game. it can only make things a little easier when it comes to aiming. in most competitive games, there are many more things to worry about than just aiming well. btw, which UT player was this?

His alias was Violence/Vio and he is a kiwi IIRC. He used to get above 25% accuracy in Instagib.....u wont know how good it is until u try urself ;)

what weapon do you get in UT instagib? it's quite common to hit over 40% in Q3 insta and i usually average 50%+

Dunno about Q3 but the game i am talking about it Instagib CTF in UT99. The main thing to note is the conditions--Turbo Setting & Air Control, with 1337 players who are breaking heads over this game for almost 8 years. Getting 20% accuracy would land you mostly on top of the scoreboard...and 30% in the ban-list for botting :ohyeah: (and i am not exaggerating...the iCTF community has gone down now...but still you come across ppl who know how to 0wn the game.)

umm...its fine normally but once you get rid of mouse accceleration, the mouse becomes really slow... i use the mx518@1600dpi with windows sensitivity at 7/11 (default is 6/11)
so i guess 400dpi wudnt cut it for me :P

i never used mouse acceleration either and it wasn't slow for me :) i meant increasing in game sensitivity, not in windows.
