Doesn't do what I thought it does. I was expecting 867 Mbps uplink speed with my router, but it does the usual 300/360 mbps which my laptop can anyway do
My laptop was showing 300 or 360 Mbps uplink speed on wi-fi. Since my router is an AC1900 router, I thought using this adapater will give me higher speeds. But it doesn't, it gives the same uplink speed.

The reception is definitely better than the built-in wi-fi card. While copying files, speeds were much more stable than usual. But definitely not very useful for me. Can be used by someone for their desktop if it doesn't have wi-fi or for their laptop if they want to add 5 Ghz capability.

i have tested similar model before and it indeed gives the mentioned speed.
Connect the adapter directly to USB 3.0 PORT and try.

I did connect it to a USB 3.0 port. But after reading your post, I tried it again and this time also installed the driver from D-Link website. Link speed was still the same. Maybe it's my router, or the fact that there are many other devices connected to it. Can't say for sure.

Connect to 5GHz band.
If your router gives out same SSID for both 2.4 GHz and 5GHz band, create a new SSID for the 5Ghz band.

Also do not use the Cable in the box.Connect the Dongle directly.

Taken care of both. I have set my router to have separate SSID for both the bands.

Open to offers. I know prices keep going up and down on Flipkart and amazon. Will lower the price appropriately if new needed.
