Broadband Options in Pune

Hi,

I'm currently looking at broadband option in Pune, Viman Nagar.
Currently using tata Photon plus which s pretty expensive 5GB for 1000 Rs.

I am looking for an unlimited connection or something upwards of 10GB for download.

Heard about Nivyah..but do they service Pune. Airtel 512 unlimited is also costly 899 Rs i think.
Please suggest other options you know.

Go for BSNL. Airtel has ridiculous FUP limits, so you'll be better off with BSNL.

512 kbps UL for 900 better than Photo with 5GB limit at 1k right... Now most of the ISP's have bad plans (from our POV) and most of them wanna mint a k per customer a month.

Check feasibility first and then decide.

I live in wadgaonsheri and apart from BSNL there not even a single ISP. After applying for BSNL and broadband and waithing for more than 2 months I finally gave up.
Fortunately BSNL's new 3G plan is great (although it is for limited time only). Go to Yerwada BSNL ofice and get a BSNL 3G sim and data card. Data card is around 2K and then do RS 4200 recharge. You will enjoy unlimited high speed internet for six months. You u have a mobile that supports 3G you can use that also to connect to internet on ur PC.

I'm using TataIndicom Night Unlimited 2Mbps priced @ 1000Rs . Day limit is 1.5GB for whole month , and Night FUP is 125GB ...

TATA Indicom is present in Wadgaon BK. Not sure abt Wadgaon Sheri tho.

abhifusion: What FUP dude ? Is it the Quick Power 360 wala plan or something else ? What is the point of having FUP even on an Night UL plan man :|

Airtel has fup'ed me, Reliance hub is 50 metres away from my building but they dont have a line here. Tikona guy came today, crappy signal strength from all the 3 towers in my area.

I am pretty much running out of options.

its better if you ask in your neighborhood which connectivity is good & then opt accordingly.

I live in Viman Nagar too, and I've got airtel. I'd suggest going for BSNL 3G. Airtel's good only cos they have almost no downtime.
Otherwise you've got plenty of options...Reliance..~Rs.700 for 600kbps, Tata landline, BSNL landline, and Tikona.
BSNL 3g would be my first option, BSNL landline 2nd.

I had Tata 4 yrs ago, and had lots of downtime...but they should have improved by now.
Call all of them up, see if they service your building, and choose depending on your usage pattern.

Go for reliance UL 600 kbps plan fat Rs. 700 or try YOU Broadband & Cable India Limited: Leading High Speed Broadband Internet Service provider in India. Super Fast Connection. for UL plans and avaial discounts on online payment !! You can double ur bandwidth and DL speed with use of Virtual PC which i would assist you !! Just call up customer care and ensure if connectivity is there !! Just PM for a contact no of the concerned person !! Will assist you with the rest !!

I too stay in Wadgaon Sheri and I tried Tikona for 6 months and gave up. There were many downtimes and high latency issues. I am now with BSNL and its damn good.
Very consistent in Speed and no packet loss....
If you stay in Viman Nagar nearby to hotel krishna or the BSNL exchange I would suggest to go for a BSNL 3G 4200 plan. Its superb. I am using 3G also and I get good speeds. Dont go for anyother ISP now as BSNL rocks there. Airtel is the best in terms of service and quality but their FUP sucks .....
I got a BSNL landline with boradband connection within 15days. and its working wonders for me .... (Why wonders... coz this is such a deserted area that no other ISP provides ADSL services here and I am fedup of Tikona/ reliance Wimax)

What about hari ganga or ram society which is right behind the golf course... can u suggest which internet to get, i want wireless and not wired lines which will work even if i go to mumbai

Ok Great. Just saw BSNL plan of 4200 3g. Comes out to 700 Rs per month which is fine. I stay near HDFC bank in Viman Nagar.
