Broadband Woes

Hi all,

I live in Indiranagar bangalore and am unable to get a decent broadband service. Everything is in a wait period so it seems.

I have used hathway, they used to send two bills a month !! :@ i dumped them. And the next was tata indicom and it was a very fast connection but unbelievable downtimes dumped them too. I live near ESI hospital in Indiranagar and Airtel says they have no more lines available for a month at least and BSNL I dont know the damn form is so complicated to fill up. Can someone suggest some decent broadband service, 256 Kbps and above speeds with one to two GB of download limit.

Surprising to see that you had a problem with TATA..... Chaos uses it and is very happy with the performance...
 
hey man..

try airtel.. if u dont get it..best option would be. iqara.
RS 900 per month unlimtied download and upload 256.. for 1:1 connection per person..
 
juz got my tata indicom hooked up this evening after ditching stupid exatt... BT running as we speak, speeds are consistently between 27-29kb/sec for the 256k unlimited plan i signed up for... so far so good, juz keeping my fingers crossed that it will have minimal downtimes... anyway, i'm also getting mtnl hooked up later this week as a backup connection in case my tata indicom connection goes down...

let's wait and see how this service performs :)
 
TATA has decent service but speeds are not what they promise most of the time...BSNL is another option which provides the promised bandwidth of 256kbps but the only hassel is the poor customer care...

If you can cope with the babus of this slow mamoth then you should get it.. Its affordable & right now your only choise for affordable broadband..

Can't say much about local ISP's 'coz I am not from Bangalore but BSNL speeds are as promised...

You can switch to AIRTEL when lines are laid in your area...!!
 
i guess u`ll be havin a bsnl landline..
just take the bb 900 u/l plan..
it`ll give u dl speeds of 30-35~ anytime....
thats wat i used to get when i used the service when they launched and had ul ...
dont even think abt the charged plans in bsnl its totally not worth it.. its a rip off... u`ll be charged no matter wat u do... and they`ll say u downloaded...
their cc is vvvvvvvvv poor... but i guess u wont need to call them ..

use that till airtel comes in.. then switch..
 
But BSNL & Sify cap there upload speeds at 64Kbps

So you have only one choice left wait for Airtel
 
Sify sucks period. After years of mangling with Sify I have switched over to Airtel and MTNL and have been hassleless since. With Sify the frigging connection went dead for days without fixing. It rained, boom connection gone... sir woh swtich mein paani chala gaya.... I just HATED it. It gave me speeds of 33KB but the headache was not worth it. With Airtel I get around 28 KB during day and 55 KB during night. With MTNL its 32 KB whether day or night. I just love Airtel, made me have at least partial broadband experience (at night).
 
I've opted for IQARA or you telecom as its known now a 512 kbps 2 GB cap for 650/month package. lets hope it works this time. Will wait and watch on airtel status
 
Sify shouldn't even be in the picture. Used them for almost a year, soon as I heard Airtel was available in my society, I jumped the gun and haven't looked back.

Hands down the best ISP and CS, though I had some billing issues with them, they gave me a whole month of Internet for free, so it's all good :P
