While taking out my graphics card i broke a resistor on my graphics card (behind rear end) which was close to the PCI-E clip of the mobo. i ran a furmark test to see if there was any problems but nothing showed up and its running fine .will anything happen if i leave it as it is in the future?.pls reply ASAP

i hav not noticed any problems so far,the resistor is not fully broken ,only that coloured part which gives u an idea of how many ohms it is is come off
the full resistor is not come off , only the part which is colourd (brown or black dont know as couldnt find it) is come off and there is a small scratch on the cards mobo.how much will it cost to replace it if RMA is not possible

Once accidentally while assembling, one or two capacitors got bent, and I bent it again to make it as it was before...although my Pc is running fine, could I face a problem?

that resistor is soo small, smaller than a grain of rice, i noticed it bcaus i when i heard the sound the screw driver made when i was trying to push the PCI-E clip, there is no place for your fingers to press the clip on a biostar
TP35D2a7 mobo.

what should i tell them when i giv it for RMA?(caus everytins fine, now)

do i hav to go to the service center or to the shop claim RMA?(caus i purchasd it on 1st june 2009)

how long does RMA take and where is the place in mumbai?

Thnx a lot for replyin, but i need some little more help and feedback

RMA only if there are only issues.....service centres so a check before replacing.....since u dont have any problem....let the card run as it is.
jus dont mention u broke it when RMAing....warranty dosent cover physical damage.

i gave the card tday for RMA the guy noticed the resistor which was broken, he said that there is a 90% chance ill get a replacement and 10% he cant say. i just hope its not the other way round.but he wrote on the challan that physical damage is there.so im just keepin my fingers crossed.

There is a good chance the card will not be RMAed, but fixing/replacing resistors is not a very complex job, request the company to do at a nominal charge. Of course your warranty is gone for a toss now..

the fellow at Prime who wrote the challan for the RMA said that such resistors cannot be repaired as they are very small and in the process might spoil the other resistors which are close to it.but he kept saying that Aditya infotech are good and there is a 90% chance i will get a replacement.he also said that if i do not write here about the physical damage they wii come to know when the check it.

anyway how is Prime's RMA service?

did anyone get a replacement for physical damage?(had read in one of the threads a guy got a replacement even though his card was burnt)

All I can tell you , Prime is the only dealer on Lamington who have a separate RMA division / office and these guys really go out of the way to take care of the customer's need !

At times they have helped me RMA stuff I had not bought from them and lost my bill as well .;)

^^ Thats exactly the reason I buy any PC stuff from Prime, they have a dedicated RMA division, and dont tell you goto distributor's for RMA. Infact they RMAed a Jetway board which I had not even bought from them, their prices are also now amongst the lowest, but low price notwithstanding, their customer service alone is worth a recommend for anyone buying PC stuff from Lamington road.
