Review broken electric rice cooker from pepperfry :(

My second "will i get refund" thread today :p

ok ordered phillips Philips HD4729/60 Electric Cooker from pepperfry this one :

DTDC guy deleivered the package couple of hrs ago and i opened it in front of the courier guy and this is what i see :

part of the cardboard box was wet and it looked like it took a beating on the way so i took this snap before opening the package

what the hell did they do to tinflict this much damage ? :scared14:

called CC and they told me to email the pictures to customer.service@pepperfry.com and asked them when will i get the refund they said only they can tell that...will they refund my money guys ? :(
 
Why didn't you returned the package?

the courier guy was ready to take it back but i called their toll free number and the lady said not to let the courier guy take the back the package and they will themselves arrange for reverse pickup ....thats why i kept the package and as instructed i just shot the mail with the above snaps .

was i duped into keeping the package or should i have let the courier guy return it like you say ? :(
 
If you hadn't signed it you should have refused to take the package. In that case if the package was insured the company would have had no issues shipping you a new one or refunding your money.

no i did not sign the anything and i dont know if they have some kinda insurance ....i dont know about all this...its my first bad exp. purchasing online.

I doubt that you will get your money back,
In such cases you shouldnt have accepted the package...

i didnt sighn anything to the courier guy and it was the pepperfry CC who instructed me to send the courier guy away and i opened the package in front of the courier guy only ....so how am i responsible for all this ? :(

I recently ordered a Davidoff perfume which turned out to be fake, they returned back the amount.
 
You will get your money back for sure since you called them the moment you got the item and sent them the photos as well. Dont worry, they are not that bad. They have to survive and will try their best to avoid bad press with instances like this.

But the damage looks like it was done during transport, and only pepperfry knows whether insurance was taken or not. Anyway not your problem :)

thanks guys thats comforting to hear ....yes i called them the instance i opened the package in front of the courier people....also sent the pictures by midnight and CC guy told me to resend the mail with the snaps as he is not getting the mail ...so i resent it and he confirmed he received it and looking at the snaps he told it was damaged so will arrange for reverse pickup and said i need to wait for 3-4 days and then they will refund or send a new one ....keeping my fingers crossed for now :P .

Also i know the DTDC franchise owner in my area and he said they dont offer reverse pickup service...so i think they will send some other courier people to collect it .
 
Guys keep in mind pepper fry is just a front en d for suppliers and works like amazon intl does, you will find the same product priced at says 69 and even 399, look for car mobile mat and you will know . and i believe it ships directly from the dealer too so Good luck here :P

and guys from bluedart came today evening and collected the package from my house .It would be nice if this is resolved as soon as possible and i dont even want a refund if you can get a replacement shipped to me in good shape thats all .

The bluedart guys told me to put the whole package in a seperate cardboard box which i did with some help from them....please dont cover the original box with pepperfry cover and some duct tape and ship it ....it wont do any good if the package in mishandled like in my case....please bubble wrap the original box and put the whole thing in a seperate box to absord the shocks....that way even if it came in contact with water only the outer box will take the beating .

Yeah he told me thanks ....also got a call from your team they said they cant send a new product but will refund the money in 7 days .

Got the refund today ......Still my 750 off coupon got wasted not to mention the delay .
