bsnl + 3g- a few questions

Hi all,
I've recently subscribed for bsnl 3g prepaid mobile connection. I've paid 59/- for the SIM and recharged it with 120/- as first recharge and got 30/- balance. So far, I'm loving the speeds which are on an average ~2mbps (wayyy much better than my photon plus).
I've a few queries regarding bsnl connection. It'll be great if someone here can answer them as it seems almost impossible to get through the customer care.

1. How can I check the data usage and balance on my mobile? If I type *123#, all I get is the total balance remaining and nothing else.
2. This might sound a bit dumb but, how can I check my current call rates?
3. Do I've to recharge separately for voice and data plans?
4. I saw that there's an unlimited plan for 2.5k. But when I go for online recharge there is a plan of ~2700 but it doesn't mention about what I'll be getting after recharging.
5. I'm no receiving any balance updates after call ending or texting. Do I have to activate something for this?
6. Is there any recharge plan that makes my call rates cheaper? I heard that there's some ~300 recharge after which all your calls will be charged at 1paise/minute. Is this true?

I know that many of these sound silly, but I've no other way to get answers for my questions as I'm not at all able to reach the CC personnel.

1. After every internet session, it pops up a message with the data balance
2. check out bsnl website.
3. no. data charges are 0.01 paise/10kb. its deducted from ur balance amount
4. i believe those are for the bsnl data cards
5. Cant answer this
6. If u are in AP, there is a new super vannela plan, which would reduce your call charges.

1. I'm receiving absolutely no updates after internet usage and I'm not sure if my account balance is being deducted after usage.

^ Please remember each state/circle has different settings/plans in BSNL. For eg in TN after usage of data session, i will get message of how much data is used in bytes. In KA, you get a message saying how much DATA left in your a/c when you send *123#
 
hmm..I'm using an Android phone(xperia x10). does that make any difference? coz many of the applicatons on my phone continuously use internet.

Also, is any one using the 3g tv service provided by bsnl? I'm not able to download the app. Whenever I send the sms mytv to 55447, I get no reply :(
