Well, it would be great if you could answer a few questions....

What are the monthly charges ? How will I be billed for this by BSNL ? How do you get the connection renamed into my name ? How much will that cost ?

On a side note, how much download speeds one can expect from this ? in kbps ? Does anybody have any experience with this dongle ?

as you will have to insert your 3g sim in this so ther are no ownership issues, it its just like a sale of a mobile.

montly charges range from 222 to 1500 for unlimited internet( prepaid ) and a little less for postpaid(1400 for unlimited).

I was expecting the speed to be around 3073 Kbps (3mbps), thats what you should expect in mumbai as in mumbai there is no problem of signal strength. ask a friend about the signal strength he gets with a bsnl sim( here BSNL is not preferred as bsnl is most of the time out of range and the phone gets disconnected ,every now and then)
ask around in the broad band section for reviews of this one.

buy idea 3g new device 1450/- with bill + 150 rs to unlock to use any GSM prepaid . i got it today written this scrap from docomo GSM >

There is no BSNL in Mumbai..Only MTNL...I'm not sure if this will work there...

Well thats a valid point,

I dont know if it does, tried google-ing but some say it works and some say it does not.

THanks for highlighting this.

SO MTNL users do your home work before buying.

Hmm....any idea how much a new antenna costs ? It doesn't come with the original package provided by BSNL ?

antenna was given free with the laptop my brother purchased ( for the TV tuner in the laptop, make is HP)

it looks great and slick.

I think you cen get it in a computer shop as it came with the laptop and was bundled because of the TV tuner.
