BSNL 3G GSM Sim And Router Advise Needed - Help Your Old Man ?

Guys ,

I Have a Airtel Braodband Setup At Office and We Are Pretty Happy with the Same .I would Like To do the following At Home .

Remove and surrender:

  • Tata indicom Brandband
  • Tata Indicom Photon+ Dongle

Why ?

  • When i Am At Remote Places And Would Like Internet In Punjab TATa Indicom Just Does Not Have The Range And Installations Like BSNL

What is The Plan :

  • Buy a GSM 3G Sim And Put It In a 3G USB Modem " Help Me Select The Modem"
  • Put The 3G Modem in The Router "USB" Slot And Use The Facilities
  • When I Am Off To My Village "Take The 3G USB Modem Along " And use It In The Village
  • I Am Not Sure If i Can Use 3G At My Village But i Hope Internet would Work

Kindly Help Me In This And suggest Some Solution That is Tried and Tested

It should at least work in EDGE mode :)

But my final reco is to get a single device like the Huawei E5 which takes in a 3G Sim in the slot and acts as a WiFi router as well and best thing is it can work w/o power for 4-6 hours :D

Its costs quite a lot though...arnd 120$ or so in ebay.com
