BSNL 3G + N97 Mini - Speed Loss - DisConnecting - Phone restarting

Hey folks..

I use BSNL 3G UL with my N97 mini.

When i use this on torrents.. i get good speeds for like 3 or 4 minutes then all the speeds go to 0. I need to reconnect the phone and restart the connection. then again the same routine.

And sometime the phone also restarts.

What is this?

Install the microsoft hotfix patch number KB925681. See the description of this hotfix and you can understand. Its closely related to disconnection issues.

Use ovi suite instead of nokia pc suite.uninstall nokia pc suite completely.

get the hotfix KB925681 from miscrosoft.

This will reduce your frequent disconnections.

But I am still facing some disconnections every hour or so.. need to find a solution.

can you can confirm the same pattern for direct downloads. i too get disconnection on my EDGE phone when using torrent but normal direct download are pretty normal. also have observed if the connection is inactive the phone disconnects itself.

also weird but i think there is no proper earthing for your pc thus phone is giving zero speeds. just try touching cabinet etc.

Ok... i installed teh hot fix and tried..

its ok for like 20 minutes i checked... wil check for long time once i get home...

Even i get the Hotfix error after connecting to my tata docomo connection.

I m thinking of installing the hotfix.

How much is the size of hotfix?

Nah it won't... Btw , mJeri Have you tried out Joikuspot ? Instead of a connected solution , it will make a Wifi hotspot from your phone. Give that a try

and one more thing forgot to ask you ... how'd you do the recharge ? You did 99/- first or directly 1499/- ? Via portal or visited the CSC ?

I had this sim like for 4 or 5 months.. been using it as my primary connection... so dunno what i did at start

Try to manually connect to internet without using ovi suit's connect to internet .

Go to network connection choose the modem of your mobile and go to properties.

just click on reconnect if lines drop after 3 second.

You should be done.

I have been putting the phone and laptop on night on... when i wake the PC up in morning by hitting enter.. the connection will be disconnected.. :S
