BSNL 3g signal down from 5 bars to just 2 suddenly

As the title says today the signal strength dropped from 5 bars to just 2...the speed too has dropped considerably...is it because of the 3 day strike by BSNL ? anyone exp. the same :huh:
 
Whoa do u feel even the towers are on strike too??:bleh::bleh:

On a serious note maybe they ve reduced the sstrength to make the authorities meet their demands??
 
^ To be fair to BSNL, they have absolutely no control over anything technical. Must be the load, or something else :P
 
Happens all the time.....But when i access internet or make a phone call.....My signals drop like shit....Try setting up ur desktop near to a window or on the roof.
 
Your replies scared me...so went to the main exchange to report the problem...the moment i entered the bsnl building this guy comes straight at me and said " you have a problem right?" i was like how do you know :P...he directed me to a lady who first apologized for my trouble and said it is the strike that is causing the speed drop...i asked the lady how they could reduce the signal...the lady said some bad elements in bsnl take money form private players and reduce the signal so it can be done(they reduce the power to the tower or something she said)...she said it will be ok from monday onwards :no:

My download speed varies from 1mbps-2.6mbps upload sucks at 100kB/s :@

I just borrowed a terracom modem of a colleague to check the speeds,i inserted my new sim and set up the bsnl software and after connecting it was running really slow, dunno why,i checked the settings, it was on 3g and check signals, they were good, still very low speeds, i tried downloading a 100mb file and it said it will take one hour. Also did the speed test and it is showing .35 mbps download and even lower uploads. I check the network settings, it was showing 3g , checked other details everything seemed alright.

Is there something wrong, why such low speeds even while surfing and downloading. Posting a screenshot below of the bsnl software.



Any inputs are welcome, as i am planning to purchase a modem or router of my own to use the sim.
 
Im also having some trouble with the BSNL 3g for the last few days...i don't know if this is due to the recent rains in tamil nadu.but im not able to connect to HSDPA network.my modem connects in 3g mode and the speeds never cross 400kbps.i get access to HSDPA network some times but the but the speeds are only around 1.5mbps.

anyone else having the similar problem?
