BSNL broadband down at night only

Anyone faced this problem with BSNL connection? every night after 2:50am they shut of internet access completely. Been happening on my connection from past week. Next day it works after 8-9am in morning normally. I have a feeling they are trying to block users from downloading content on their network forcefully. Why don't they just stop the night unlimited free option or just sell off their internet division to someone if they don't want people downloading at night? :|
 
i'm on the 500c plan. no use going to bsnl office since they will just say that if it works in daytime properly why are you worrying. probably they must be doing it purposely so that people dont download at free time hours.
 
^ Is the ADSL link up and you are not able to browse the internet alone or is the ADSL link itself down?
 
the adsl link is always up. the ppp or ppoe login goes down. i checked everything - snr, line etc. everything's ok at my end. seems they shutdown the internet login server or something at that time.
 
@6pack Even I have suffered this problem but not for prolonged periods like you are. I am on 500C+ in Pune and there were times when even if i logged out at around 0155 I couldn't login at 0202. But haven't suffered in recent months.
Log a complain on there CC number is 1500 from your landline and they will call you back. I have received prompt call backs, where they resolved the problem by giving me some sorta 'Master Login' momentarily and then the issue was resolved.

Also try using the recursive scripts for login.

it hasn't happened from past 3 days. working properly now. only thing is they seem to charge me above 1GB of usage instead of 1.5GB usage. tried talking with customer care but their software is such that no one can make out what the usage was at what time. In bsnl portal it does not give whole months data. just last 2-3 days data. and to top it, the bill for last month showed i consumed around 99.75GB+ of data on my connection :O which is practically impossible on this connection.
something's wrong with their data counting software. probably counts Kb as KB.

http://selfcare.sdc.bsnl.co.in/selfcare/ -> Are you using this portal? Gives details of every session of broadband you use and is very detailed.
And why is 99.75GB not possible? I myself have done 90GB+ few times in the 500C plan.
 
yes i used that portal. it is detailed but does not show for whole month.
95+ GB if the service is there the full month. Last I saw, the net was down for around 3-4 days this month.
Besides,i'm using transmission and most it manages to download is just around 170KBps. I've noticed that utorrent 3.xx seeders dont share with this client properly.

edit: just had trouble with it as soon as i typed that it was down this month. :rofl:


Edit2: just realised the mistake i was making. i was thinking the 95gb was data consumed during peak or billing hours. just realised that the bill showed total of both on and off peak hours data consumption. :ashamed:
