Hello Frens,
I am facing a unique problem since i had changed my POWERSUPPLY due to short circuit last year.Short circuit do nothing harm to the HARDWARE of the PC but do to the POWER SUPPLY.I changed the POWER SUPPLY.Then the problem starts here.........
I am using BSNL dataone ADSL Broadband since many years. It was running smoothly until change of POWER SUPPLY.After that the link light of the MODEM starts fluctuating 5 times in 5 mins...I thought there may a problem in MODEM.So, I changed the MODEM to NETGEAR DG632.Netgear runs smoothly with no problems.Unfortunatly Netgear modem got some problem and sent to the Service centre and it may take 1 month to repair...
So,To run broadband i have only 1 alternate left i.e. My old HUWAI MT880..That modem was running excellently at my office,as well as on my HOME LAPTOP.But why it is not running smoothly on my PC as NETGEAR proved successful in that case.I called BSNL customer care and its sucks badly.Where is the problem my FRENS, Please guide me....

1)BSNL broadband is running smoothly via MODEM HUWAI MT880 on my HOME laptop, Office, My Frens place but not at my PC.
2)Netgear DG632 runs excellently at my PC.
3)Power supply is changed.

Suggestions and comments are welcomed.
Thanks!!

I believe that your modem has its own power adapter and it doesn't draw power from the PSU... In that case just check your telephone line for disturbance also get your power line checked by an electrician(from where the modem adapter is conneted)... Cause that is the only reason why the modem light should fluctuate... Also check the NT you are using with the modem... Hope there is no parallel line working along with the modem line cause that sometimes too cause disconnections... Finally if nothing works then try changing the lan card...

P.S. I hope you are using default settings(Properties) of dial up dsl connection... If you are unsure about that then try creating a new connection ...

Hi Switch,
I am using direct line for BSNL (From pole to modem direct).Today i got 80% solution.Following things i had done to correct and got 80% success but still ADSL link lights blinking once in 5 mins.
1)I removed all the USB cables of Printer,Portable drive.
Thats it!!
As compared to earlier, I had correct 5 blinking in 5 mins to once in 5 mins(Sad).Thats same is happening to the laptop also.
Earlier the problem was with my PC only now it is with laptop also.I checked whole line via linemen and he said everything is okie. Now the issue is with the modem ADSL blinks.BSNL customer care sucks as their customer service is only for a formality.
As there is no disturbance in the phone line. What else can be the poblem?

Well.... Something is either wromg with the modem or the phone line for sure... There is nothing wrong with your PC... See if any of your friends have the same modem... Just bring it over and try connecting with it... If the problem still persists its the phone line... You need to get it checked with the BSNL people... And if orks fine then you need to get your modem replaced :)

well....Today i got 95% solution by doin following steps:
1)Connected the power plug of the modem to the UPS
2)Removed all the USB`s from PC
Now,BSNL broadband is working almost fine but not best.
But i still want to know where can be the problem. As there is no problem for sure in MODEM and phone line. And i also noticed one thing....
Whenever i plug any USB in my PC, The link light again disappear. Its HARDWARE or SOFTWARE problem?
