Bsnl evdo:incredible speed

Well i am around .5km away from the tower still i get just 2bars signal and speed around 30kbps avg.

My advice take it from someone for a day and try it out to see the speeds.

Can some one frm blore help me test the signal strength and speed near my house. I stay near brigade millennium J P nagar 7th phase
 
I use reliance in Baroda, i can vouch for it. they give 100% bandwidth as advertised, 24x7. UL speeds are symm or even greater than dl. And gives top rating in pingtest.org. BSNL sucks at ping times and UL.

anyone in kolkata near jadavpur santoshpur region havin evdo ?? I can say that I do get 3G reception here will this info be of any help?
 
Well,i've used EVDO during my Graduation in Pune.

Initially on day one the speeds were like 1.5 Mbps average but from the next day morning it was like 512 Kbps average and after that it was more of 384Kbps average constantly for 2-3 months.

after that i surrendered it as my Graduation was Complete.. :)

BTW the tower was about 1 km away from my place.. :P

so,it's kinda OK experience for me as i rented the modem instead of paying 3500/- (a year ago) & buying it. :P

at that time no other company was providing modem on rent..

that makes two of us in the same locality - 3g is fine but evdo would be sweet if available...
 
can anyone in kolkata give me a evdo for an hour so that i can try it ...and check for my self ... if my reception is good then am moving to evdo from my pathetic local ISP :P and pings dont matter as i dont game online :)
 
i am also from santoshpur and would like to get review of evdo speed because i am also frustrated with my local cable wala alliance broadband :x
