Hey guys,

I'm thinking to upgrade my existing (Old Home 1000 having 5GB limit and Night UL) plan to BB Home Combo ULF 1350 which allows me to use internet at speed 2 Mbps upto 15 GB, 512 Kbps beyond 15 GB.

ULF simply means Fair Usage policy. I couldn't find the FUP on page or anywhere on BSNL website. :(

Anyone knows about Dataone FUP?

Edit - Is the FUP means speed capping?

Wait a month or so before upgrading/downgrading. i live no more than 3km from the Exchange and the max i got was 1.68Mbps. And 15gb would go in a giffy.

The FUP is applied as the speed capping. They just call it by a fancy name. ULF my @$$.

I am also on 1350UL plan , will be visiting the bsnl office shortly to change the plan back to UL750.As i don't want to pay 1350 for 2mbps speeds that are valid only for 15gb downloads, it simply not worth it.

Hmm, BSNL just changed existing plans :( They kept Night Unlimited only for Home 500. :( That is very bad.

I need 2mbps speed very badly so I've to go with Home ULF 1350 plan :( My total monthly bandwidth is approx 30-40GB/Month.

^ Have you scheduled your PC? Do you download from torrents?

I need to play online games and I prefer playing them in day time only. Games use almost 50MB/hour.

are you guys getting constant 55-60kbps download speed?
cause for me i am getting just 35 constant on my downloads but it does fluctuate in the range of 55-60 but doesn't stay there constantly :(

This Fcuk you Policy is everywhere, damn :|

I used to push about 80-90Gigs per month on the same plan but It turns out I need Internet in day time too, so switched to UL 750

Not only you bro , even I used to push it to 70-80 GB per month but unfortunately the 2.5GB used to be exhausted in less than 15 days . So I too switched to UL 1350 but now again I have shifted back to Home 500

I want to schedule my download on Windows 7. I used to use Auto Power but anyhow it is not working on my Windows 7 64bit version

u want to get the PC started by 2 A.M.?

Not really PC, I can keep it on Stand-By mode. All I want to do is to Connect to Internet, open uTorrent and automatically Disconnect the connection at around 8AM in morning..

^^

Here's the method to set up automatic connection and disconnection.

First open notepad:
There, type (excluding inverted commas): "rasdial dataone(the connection's name on ur PC) username password"

(type your actual username instead of "username" and actual internet password in place of "password" . (username and password of the BSNL dataone internet connection)
now go to file>>>>>save as>>>>>and save file as "connect.bat" (type connect.bat in the filename space and save)
copy the file connect.bat to another folder named rahulrulez on C drive
now open notepad again and type (excluding inverted commas): "rasdial /disconnect"
now go to file>>>>>save as>>>>>and save file as "disconnect.bat" (type disconnect.bat in the filename space and save)
now copy this file to the same folder on C drive (C:\rahulrulez) as well.
Now go to task scheduler , click add scheduled task, and on first prompt, click next
On next prompt , click browse and browse to c:\rahulrulez\connect.bat

On next prompt , select perform this task daily, click next
On next prompt, select start time as 2:15 AM to be on the safe side
On next prompt, enter the windown login user password (if any on your system) and confirm again , click next
on next prompt, click finish
Now similarly
Now go to task scheduler , click add scheduled task, and on first prompt, click next
On next prompt , click browse and browse to c:\rahulrulez\disconnect.bat

On next prompt , select perform this task daily, click next
On next prompt, select start time as 7:45 AM to be on the safe side
On next prompt, enter the windown login user password (if any on your system) and confirm again , click next
on next prompt, click finish
After this, test by disconnecting and setting system time to 2:14 am....if it connects automatically in one minute , you're set up nicely !!!!
also test by setting time to 7:44 am (after connecting) and wait for one minute to see if it disconnects to make sure that the Computer disconnects at 7:45 AM

Now for u should also schedule your utorrent to start downloading from 2 A.M. (u can't set 2:15 A.M.)

So now you connect automatically >download starts automatically>disconnects automatically
Hope it helps.:)

^ I used it before but with Auto Power ON and shut down software.. But the software stopped working, then I found windows Scheduler more superior. Your above given method works very well :)

--- Updated Post - Automerged ---

You can schedule for Auto Shutdown using Windows Schedular, Just make a .bat file of given code and run it as Administrator.

@echo off
at 7:40 every:M,T,W,Th,F,S,Su shutdown -s -t 60 -c "Turning off your Computer!"
echo Done!
pause&end
