BSNL increases pre FUP speed, starts at min 8 Mbps

Won't 4mbps (as per your bsnl) without fup better than 2mbps after fup of that service provider? There is no guarantee that no fup policy will stay for bsnl permanently but still... And u can get combo plan for 500 bucks pm too from bsnl giving same benefits.

Edit: Revised speeds are 8mbps/10mbps. Missed that.

All bsnl plans in Lucknow have 2Mbps after FUP.
i am currently paying 1199+ tax for 10Mbps till 40GB and 2Mbps after that.
and over FTTH i am getting 220GB data @ 50Mbps and 2Mbps after that .@ 999 +tax
so switching is a no brainier.

what i meant to say is, bsnl is not following fup for quite some time. In october fup was there. Before that for 3 months it wasnt. Now also from November for another 3 months i think its not there. So your plan would work like 10mbps UL whole month.

i am stuck at 4Mbps because of line.
Also my monthly usage is around 250GB .
so i get 220GB @ 50Mbps :D that too for less price.[DOUBLEPOST=1512621460][/DOUBLEPOST]Also you are right, 8Mbps @ 500 and 10Mbps @ 675 unlimited is a great deal.

@megan Thats overheads. Rest of the 1-1.5 Mbps eaten by ADSL PPPOE Headers.

My home ADSL line Downstream synced at 11263. So i could achieve it 9.5 Mbps speed on 10 Mbps Plan. You can call them ask them to increase the line rate of downstream. Your stats looks fine.

ATM cells
ATM cells are 53 bytes long. So at 24Mb/s it is possible to transfer 56,603 cells per second. Each cell contains 48 bytes of payload data and a 5 byte header. So in terms of transferring payload a 24Mb/s line can manage 21,735,849 bits/second.

Read more here you will get an idea.

Oh thank you so much. I would try to increase it bit more. BTW sorry i am not sure i would get this atm thingy right, please tell are my values ok, and whats the meaning of that overheads, i am not good in slangs hehe. thanks for replying.

I got a new finding -- why the difference? Yeah i understand but this is somewhat major -- in usb its 5.6 but in lan it went till 6.7 ,7.1 in bsnl delhi server speed test. should i clean the usb ports?

Mod Edit: Please avoid SMS lingo

Your modem values are absolutely fine.
There is no need to clean the USB port. It will not increase the speed. USB bandwidth is limited and shared. It also depends on your System configuration and on which USB port you are connecting to your ADSL Modem.
Ethernet is optimized for shared communications networking. So I would suggest you to use connection via Ethernet cable only.

Yes. Happy Browsing offer, still going good.
i think like JIO ,they are also testing their network after pan India speed increase.
after they are done testing, they will again cap the speed after FUP.
most of the people in my building got bsnl disconnected.
now we are enjoying FTTH from a local ISP.

These are the tests from 2 different servers.

Thanks. Will downgrade my plan to a limited one then.

Anybody knows how to get plans changed in BSNL? Do we have to visit their office?
There was an option in BSNL selfcare portal to change the BB plans. But, not sure whether it's still available.
