BSNL modem change Request??

I'm using BSNL U/L 256kbps from April 2006 . Currently having Type-I mt882 modem(initially deposited 500Rs) .
My query is that, can I request for Type-II modem without extra deposit.?? I couldn't find much on BSNL site ... n I hate calling their CC :no:

Can someone enlighten me on this !!!!:ashamed:

I dont know abt the rental and stuff, But the only way to get things done quickly is to write a "letter" to them regarding ur request, Trust me they do stuff quickly when u have a letter.

I know there are a bunch of loosers who answer ur calls when u dail 1500, They dont even say a Thanks before u hang up Pathetic, Pathetic customer support.

I had the best time dealing with the BSNL CC today..
the idiots changed my password back to the default thing and didn't bother telling me.. I was wondering why my router wasn't able to dial a connection and was almost ready to switch from tomato to DD-WRT.. :|

Called 1500 some 5 times.. spoke to 3 different ppl and finally this guy said saar, but your password is abc123.. I hit the roof!

Rant over Phew.

Oh, and Will BSNL help me replace my modem for me? My MT882 is having trouble finding link and staying on for more than 30 secs.. :|

even I want to get my modem replaced...Actually i was in college and when my dad subscribed dataone connectiion he took modem on bsnl rental and last month purchased it without telling me so can I ask for a new 1 and wats difference between TYPE 1 AND TYPE 2 modem??????

Got my problem solved ....

I got type2 modem from insider by paying some moolah!!!hyeah: Otherwise had to buy new one for 1.6k .
