BSNL Modem requires restart after wake up

I have a ZTE ZXDSL 831AII modem on BSNL 600 combo plan.
Whenever I wake up my PC I need to restart the modem , this really gets on nerves when I am in a hurry. How can I fix this?

I dont want to set up an always on connection as I want to limit myself.

does yr modem have auto login data fed or u use a PPPoE dialer from OS? Also whats the status of the lights (LAN & DSL) in the modem when the system is sleeping for long. Any other network device accessing the modem at that time?

I think its PPPoE but I connect manually from the connections under the Dial-up and VPN of the Networking centre of Windows 7.

I dont use any auto dialer

all i want is that the connection should not drop , and has a facility to schedule run

can anyone suggest a good PPPoE dialer for windows 7 32 bit ...Please

Most routers have a section to enable PPPoE dialing or buy any Wifi Router. All can do it for you.

Well finally found a SOLUTION to my 2 year old problem hyeah: now I dont need to RESTART my modem every time my PC wakes up
all that was needed was to change a single registry entry :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\Parameters

Change the key KeepRasConnections to 0x1

If the key KeepRasConnections does not exists at the location then create one under the parameters with the name KeepRasConnections type REG_DWORD :rofl: cant imagine such a small change could releave me of my problem glad there was no modem problem
