I am having BSNL Night Unlimited 2 Mbps (2.5 Gb dwnld limit) plan....

Now I checked my latency on Speed test.net and DSL Report...

The response was really bad...... DSL Report told I am unpingable and for
SpeedTest.net I got the following result:

Clearly its deplorable....]
I tried some tweaks adviced by DSL Report.... It didnt worked properly.....
So can anybody tell me how to resolve this problem,
and pleaaase give response to this issue... I need this to be resolveed for Torrents Download....

Thankyou....

BSNL connections are a hit or miss .... some get good connections with good pings while in most cases its the other case with bad pings.... The pings and connection depend on the wires and h/w....

You can complain but i doubt it will help much... only thing they are bothered with is whether internet is on or not.....

I got 300+ pings in internet gaming servers in BSNL so I switched to Airtel which gives me 100 ping and is much better....

Yeah thats what.... In my colllge they are giving Reliance connection there....
So, Though the bandwidth is only 512 kbps( with just 5 gb of download limit)... But they are giving us Ping of 80 to 100... So thats good...

However, I face problem here back at home in context with ping......

But at the same time I cant download as much I want at My college
However back at home I CAN and am able to.....:)

One more thing...... Besides Bandwidth... does the ping matter in context with uploading on torrents and specially High Profile torrents like BitmeTV, WAFFLES, TranceRoute, Cheggit etc......
And whether it controls that you get good no of peers or not...and a nice upload speed......:(

And Morever is there any way to improvise ping somehow..... I tried tweak on DSL Report... But it is not much of any good.....

SO CONCLUIDINGLY HOW IMPORTANT IS PING

BSNL pings are really bad.. I get above 300 ping in TF2 servers (UK and US) still they allow me to play..

I was getting ~150 before.. but can't do anything really

Some info that I shall like to share... That will help you people, understand the problem more clearly........
1) I am Using Nokia Siemens C2110 Modem.....

2) I used Lahore Server...on Speedtest.net as It was the nearest to my location and was recommended by Speedtest.net Server in the first place...

3)I used DSL Report Tweak tool and got some result, from where I got to know that I am Unpingable....
And Even made some tweaks...... Suggested by them.... But didnt effected much of my connectivity....

My result link is Tweak Results - dslreports.com

4) I am connecting to the Internet on PPPoE mode...as it makes the job hassle free.... and my other family member dont know much about computer.... So for them connecting to net seperately become a tedious job..... So unke sahuliat ke liye

4) I aml posting some screenshot of the result that I got for my connection on DSL Report.....

Following is the Image of DSL Tweak Result:-

dslreporttweaktest.png

As you can see, they are stating I am not pingable, thats what clicked me....

Following is the result of Speed test result.....

dslspeedtest.png

Finally, After giving away all these thing I want to know one hardcore fact on simple word.... How much does the ping matters......

Does it effect how much upload speeds i get private trackers..... how It effects my net usage.....

Thankyuo..
