BSNL: Poor speed from last week

I am in 900 plan so no 2mbps for me but from last week even 256kbps is a problem. Extremely slow downloads..I get good SNR/margin so line is not a problem. Does anyone else also facing same problem?

Yes, and at times internet stops working even though ping to bsnl working and many times even it does not reach bsnl even if DSL line is UP. Even ping does not work for ip addressed (so not a dns problem)

Pings have gone very high for overseas sites. Not sure if its due to undersea cable damaged or due to new plans launched from bsnl. Although speeds when dll is just a bit less than before, the websites and p2p networks are working too slow.

same thing, but for me, this's been going for the past 3 months. i get connection, most of the time can't access anything during 11am and 5pm, even bsnl's site  , otherwise download speeds are 171KB/sec :hap2:  .

Home 500. I should be getting 2Mb/s, which I haven't seen since January first week.

Everyone who is getting low speeds on BSNL, make sure your routers are set to the GDMT modulation type.

mine is not slow .. but on ftp barely reaches 160 kBps and on torrents never crosses 120 kBps ..which was previouuly 160 KB ps on torrents and 210 KBps on ftp :(

go to 192.168.1.1 and in modem settings or something , you should find various options like "gmt" "g lite" "adsl+2" set dmt and uncheck others . see if connection works .. otherwise revert to old settings.

I envy you (80KB = 640kbps) :D I am starving for just plain 256kbps.

Usually my limewire used 2 dnld at an avg 200KBps:hap2:
dont have the scr shots 2 support though:(
but 4m last week speeds stuck at 150-160KBps:mad:

you did read the "upto 2Mbps" part right?

this is where CONTENTION ration comes into play.... you wont get close to 2mbps once everyone is shifted over :)
