BTW is SB Rig possible within this budget??

Sandy Bridge Rig :

1. Intel Core i3 2100 - 6100/-

2. Intel DH67BL B3 - 5200/- or Asus P8H61-M PLUS - 3200/-

3. Gskill Ripjaws 1600 mhz 4gb x 1 - 1650/-

4. NZXT Gamma (Better airflow with addon Fans) - 2100/-

5. Seasonic 430 - 2600/- or Corsair CX 430 V2 - 2200/- (Not recommending Seasonic SS400 just coz Gamma is black whereas this PSU is grey in colour)

6. Acer S220HQL - 7250/-

7. WD Blue 1TB - Normally 2800/- (prices have touched the sky recently, make sure you buy HDD's after the market settles down)

8. Sapphire 6670 1gb DDR5 - 5400/-

Approx ~ Rs.30700/- for Sandy bridge rig with H61 chipset and Corsair CX430V2

Approx ~ Rs.32700/- for Sandy bridge rig with H67 chipset and Corsair CX430V2

AMD RIG :

Phenom 955BE beats Intel i3 2100 in multitasking and performs equally well in other tasks....

But AM3/AM3+ socket dont have future now as BD fails to perform. Still if you want performance at the cost of loosing future upgrades then 955BE will be still a great choice.

1. Phenom X4 955 BE - 5750/-

2. ASUS M4A88T-M AM3 - 4500/- or Gigabyte GA880GM USB3 - 4500/-

Rest specs as given above.

Approx ~ 31650/- for AMD rig with Gigabyte 880 mobo

If you want you can stick to 5670 1gb, but as you will be gaming on full HD its better to pack some more power under the hood, thats why a 6670 would be good. Or you can drop down to 20" monitor if planning to run games using 5670.

Thanks to both of you for your suggestions...

So this is the final rig after your suggestions..

1. Phenom X4 955 BE - 5750/-

2. Gigabyte GA880GM USB3 - 4500/- (I trust Gigabyte more :bleh: )

3. Gskill Ripjaws 1600 mhz 4gb x 1 - 1650/-

4. NZXT Gamma (Better airflow with addon Fans) - 2100/-

5. Sapphire 6670 1gb DDR5 - 5400/-

Now Monitor and PSU.

@chiragsthakur Are you sure preferring Acer over Benq would be a good idea??

Same for PSU. FSP Saga II 500W or Corsair CX 430 V2 - 2200/- ??

But it looks like above my budget. Can I cut down anything??

BTW I really don't understand what's the profit of choosing SB Rig??

I would suggest the Benq G2220HD ~ 7k-7.5k. Tried and tested monitor. Excellent VFM.

For PSU I would suggest the Corsair CX430 V2 ~ 2.2k. If budget is flexible then the Seasonic S12II 430w ~ 2.8k

Just that AM3 and AM3+ havent got future, whereas the next Intel processors are going to be backward compatible (LGA 1155) and as you know those upcoming intel processors are going to perform really well..

FSP PSU's have shorter cable length. When you use a FSP PSU in a cabinet in which PSU is mounted at the bottom, then the power cable needs to be stretched badly to reach the connector on top end of the mobo. So corsair CX430 V2 is what you should get.

And regarding monitor I have given 2 Acer 22" monitors to my friends and found the quality equal to Benq G2220HD.. You can even get G2220HD, no probs... :) equally good

Hmm. Thanks a lot to you both :)

Lets see. Actually it's going over budget.

I don't think I'll be able to afford that now.

So keeping the processor same can I go for the Motherboard that you suggested??

Will decide on the Graphics Card later.

Keeping the processor same means?? 955BE or i3 2100 or Pentium D???

If 955BE then Gigabyte 880gm usb3

If i3 2100 then Asus P8H61-M PLUS

If Athlon X4 645 then Gigabyte 880gm usb3

If Pentium D, then :bleh: ;)

And Wait for the HDD prices to settle down.

Spot on... That i3 rig is much better. You can upgrade GFX card in future :) And yes that IGP is fine for HD movies, cant comment the quality or game experience you will get on recent releases. Less demanding games will work fine

AnandTech - Bench - CPU

Thanks, I read that link from the other thread.

Now the thing which is going on my mind is Dual Core???

Are you sure going for a Dual Core at present would be a good idea??

Performance matters bro. i3 2100 (2 cores, 4 threads, IGP) been dual core with hyper threading still beats AMD Athlon/Phenom quads (4 cores, 4 threads, No IGP). Intels per core performance is way better than AMD's.

If you are willing to wait till Q1 of next year, AMD and NVIDIA will be shipping out new generations GFX cards with low power consumption and better performance.

If you are not willing to wait, then at present a 6770 or 6850 is what you would be able to run on your PSU.

You can wait for the new lineup IMO

Hey guys, I was just thinking, how about spending 1.5k more for 2500k. Is it worth the value??

Can I pair it up with previous suggestion Intel DH67CL-B3??

As I'm never going to OC, won't the z68 be a waste??

So can you suggest me some decent board if Intel DH67CL-B3 not a good choice?
