Hi friends

Actually I was using Umax 2.1 power speakers for the last 2 years but recently its mobo started giving problems and now it is dead. Can it be repaired. I had went to a nearby shop who told that the mobo will be changed and it will cost me nearly Rs.600 and even there there will be no guarantee for future as how much it will work Therefore i decided to buy a new one. Or else can I use its speakers any other way.

One more thing is that I have a old panasonic home theatre lying with me. Can I attach its speakers to my PC as the speakers are really good. Here is its snap.

So tell if any of the above speakers can be used on my PC else I am looking for 2.1 speakers for my PC or any USB speakers.

Any good company would go.

Regards[DOUBLEPOST=1403584015][/DOUBLEPOST]Kya baat hai, no replies....?

You will most probably need a cable that looks like follows:

Budget speakers for PC - upto 2K
I suggest a Intex IT-2475 Beats (40W RMS) @ Rs.1950 ( Ritchie st - Chennai ).
I own one for past two years, purchased for Rs.1500. I extensively use it as standalone player. USB port supports only 2GB max ( FAT32 )

Thanks for the reply dear, but I already know this method of using aux and using these speakers but here I want to know how to use only speakers without the main unit.

You will need an amplifier to do that. A board ( like follows ) can be fixed into empty floppy drive bay and powered from 12V rail of PSU, provided your PSU is powerful enough to handle the load.

And can it be attached seperately and then connected to my pc via usb wire or something like that in such a way that the power loan does'nt come on my PSU.[DOUBLEPOST=1403761633][/DOUBLEPOST]and how about these speakers:

where I can get it in Delhi or online and what is it called....?

You may search for TA2024 Amplifier Board. There is one available in ebay.in, but is highly priced and does not have a volume control.
The part I suggested does not require any soldering at all. You buy a 3.5mm stereo male to 3.5mm stereo female cable - slice it into equal halves - you are set to go.

Since you mention DELHI, you have other options to drive spare external speakers.
You could buy a USB port Car stereo ( without optical drive, i.e., CD/DVD ) that comes with AUX-IN ( Rs.750 - Rs.1250 )
... and power it with a 12v DC 3Amps / 5Amps SMPS adaptor. ( Rs. 250 - Rs.500 )
Note: DTH set-top-boxes usually come with 12v DC 2A SMPS adaptors. They are cheaply available and can power a low RMS wattage car stereo comfortably.

And can it be attached seperately and then connected to my pc via usb wire or something like that in such a way that the power loan does'nt come on my PSU.
That would defeat the purpose.. which is "directly connecting hi wattage speakers to PC".

That and most of the other USB powered speakers are around RMS 3 Watts.
I suggest Intex JOIN-IT 2.0 Multimedia Speaker ( RMS 5 Watts ) available for Rs.325 in local market.
The online price is higher by 50%. The product is brittle with no thermo-coal in packing. If you buy it online, most probably it will get damaged in transit. Read my review in Flipkart

I am not able to understand how will it defeat the purpose with direct connections of speakers as the speakers are awesome and direct connection .....? I don't know how but can u explain....?

Those speakers cannot be powered by the internal soundcard in your computer. In simple terms, these speakers are massive, and need more power, so you need a high power amp, which means that the input power needs to be large. Not to forget, matching impedance specs.

The class T amps should get the job done, but it would be better if you can get the specs of the speakers from your Panasonic manual.
