I need to build a good gaming rig. I will post the requirements using the template to make things easier and have added some additional info / m where appropriate. Would love to hear from you guys what are the best components for the build.

One thing to keep in mind is that the room where the box will be kept will usually have low air circulation. Definitely no AC all the time. I usually keep my PC on 24x7. So the PSU / Cooler would be really important in my case

1. Q: What is your budget?
1. INR 100K - 125K

2. Q: What is your existing hardware configuration (component name - component brand and model)
I have my old PC but I will be discarding most of the stuff baring the below

3. Q: Which hardware will you be keeping (component name - component brand and model)
1. Keyboard - Razor Tarantula
2. Mouse - Razor Deathadder

4. Q: Which hardware component are you looking to buy (component name). If you have already decided on a configuration then please mention the (component brand and model) as well, this will help us in fine tuning your requirement.
1. CPU - Intel (??)
2. Motherboard - (??)
3. GPU - (??)
4. RAM - 8GB Min or 16gb (??)
5. SSD - 250 GB
6. HDD - Barracuda XT 3.5" Internal Kitted Drive 3 TB x 2 ( I dont if you get these in India) or am happy to give with traditional Seagate 1 TB
7. CPU Cooler - My PC would nearly be 24x7 in a normal non-ac room. I do switch on the AC but usually at nights only. So a cooling device would surely be very important
8. Monitor - 21" or higher
9. Cabinet - Smaller the better; but I und with high end rigs it usually is large.
10. PSU - (??)
11. ODD - Will use my existing one. Its a Sony DVD-R + RW. Sufficient for my requirements
12. Speakers - I love a 5.1 as I watch a lot of movies

5. Q: Is this going to be your final configuration or you would be adding/upgrading a component in near future. If yes then please mention when and which component
Unlikely to carry out any major upgrades

6. Q: Where will you buy this hardware? (Online/City/TE Dealer)
1. Mumbai

7. Q: Would you consider buying a second hand hardware from the TE market
1. No

8. Q: What is your intended use for this PC/hardware
1. Gaming
2. Browsing
3. Desktop Processing
4. HTPC
5. Download rig, 24x7 operation
6. Watching movies

9. Q: Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them and the reason for your preference/dislike.
1. Nothing specific

10. Q: If you will be playing games then which type of games will you be playing?
1. High end games with usually large graphic / memory requirement

11. Q: What is your preferred monitor resolution for gaming and normal usage
High - Nothing specific

12. Q: Are you looking to overclock?
1. No

13. Q: Which operating system do you intend to use with this configuration?
1. Windows 7

btw if u love nvidia then u can get 580 gtx for 28-33k depend on any brand

the p67 is good board if u need high end z68 with faster booster ssd and bios with mouse, i recommend go for z68 with any brand gigabyte or asus or msi

better go for crucial M4. OCZ has reliability issues.
Also go for cm 690II adv or tempest evo a little smaller than phantom i guess:P depends on your preference though

A more upto date price list + more tailored for not over-clocking functionality --

Intel Core i7 2600 ~ 15500/- [as you are not over-clocking save the extra money spent on a k processor] + Noctua NH U12P SE2 ~ 3700/- [a great cooler for lower temperatures than the stock Intel HSF]
Intel DH67-BL ~ 5200/- [as you are not over-clocking even a good bare-bones motherboard as this one will suffice]
Corsair XMS3 4GB x 2 ~ 3200/-
Corsair Force series 120GB SSD [primary boot drive with space for page file and oft used applications] ~ 13500/- [recommending Corsair over OCZ due to well established after sales support]
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB x 2 [data dump configured in RAID 0 for added speed OR RAID 1 for data redundancy] ~ 3500/- x 2, prices of HDD's has scaled up due to Thai floods -- Seagate seen dominating battered market Thailand floods’ impact to be worse than Japan quake.
nVidia GTX 560 Ti [2 x SLi] OR AMD HD 6950 1GB [2 x CrossFIRE] ~ 32000/-
Seasonic SS 850AT ~ 6800/- TheITWares - One Stop for all Gizmos!SeaSonic SS-850AT 850W 80+ BRONZE Certified Power Supply
Corsair Carbide 400R ~ 5500/- [the best mid-tower in the market currently -- Corsair Carbide 400R Review - Page 1/6 | techPowerUp]
Dell U2311H ~ 15000/-
Razer Black Widow ~ pricing I'm not aware, but it is a mechanical key-board so eliminates any ghosting issues and feels tactile too.
Razer DeathAdder / Logitech MX 518 ~ 2200/- OR 1500/- [both mice are tried and true and have a legion of ardent supporters, also they are a favorite of the veteran gamers' too]
Razer Goliathus [Control edition] OR Roccat Sense [Speed Edition] ~ 1300/- [whichever suits you] OR Razer Vespula ~ 1700/- [control on one surface, speed on the other, get the best of both in one hard mat]
Audio I'm not a great recommend, so go with what other members pitch.

Hope this helps, happy gaming.

Also on an unrelated note, your ID and this thread seem to be pointing to an oxymoron.

hey @Alpha17 methinks ur suggestion of the Intel Mobo is incorrect for this kinda rig

WHEN the OP has a budget of upto 1.25L & obviously will be using 2GPU in Cross or sli - to then suggest a mobo like Intel DH67-BL is an oxymoron :D
So the Intel DH67-BL that you have chosen will run those 2 GPU at x8 - which is gonna kill the whole show

A BASIC REQUIREMENT FOR SUCH A BUILD WOULD BE A MOBO HAVING at least 2 [or more] PCI Express x16 slots, running at x16
The following are all supportive boards for the OP

Asus P8P67 DELUXE B3 - already suggested by @Arun.P
Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD7-B3 - priced at 19.8K

Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z - Intel Z68-based board
Asus Maximus IV Extreme - REV 3.0 - New P67 B3 Revision on Intel P67 with ROG Motherboard
prices vary from 22-26K

Thanks guys for the suggestions...reading up some stuff on the above suggestions...will come back with some questions...Thanks !!
