Sometimes, one may wish to burn an Image File instead of DATA File(s).
Writing onto a CD/DVD will from now on will be referred to as Burning in this article.
The procedure followed for burning a ISO Image is not the same as burning a Data CD.
See, when you burn a DATA CD you write the selected files onto the CD/DVD.
But a Image already contains all that data plus some more which is usually Boot Information, used to boot a CD.
Hence Obviously a Image cannot be burned onto a CD like a normal Data CD.
How to know if you have an Image on your hands?
If the file you wish to write is ISO or NRG; some of the most commonly used formats, then you have an Image which is to be burned.
