Hey guys...

Funny thread i know :ohyeah:

I just need to know, whats the difference between a Business Suit and a Formal Suit.
Normally, Business Suit's are Dark coloured, etc.
But I need to know the main difference and why you can wear Formal Suit's as Business suits :ohyeah:

Can some1 please help me out.
Need to know by the end of this day.

Lol.. Help appreciated...
Thanks...

Actually, I don't know whether your question is entirely valid. Yes business suits are dark.

But your definition of formal suit is in question.

When the Americans say formal, they mean a tux. Then there are always 3 piece suits, which are never worn to work (and not much worn anywhere else either nowadays).

Why do you need to know so quick? Interview tomorrow or uber date tonight?

^^ Lol, (at last line :P)

AFAIK, Formals are 3 piece and Business suits 2 piece.

Formals are usually worn with a white / dull coloured shirt and patterened / checked tie, while you can wear bright shirts and bright solid ties with business suits.

Just my 2 cents...

Actually, Dad has a major meeting with a Client tomoro..
Its pretty important..
His Boss told him it should be Business suit, and not formal.
My dad is confused between what is Formal and Business now. Coz the Suit he wants the wear maybe considered formal not business. :|.

From what little googling I did, it seems Formal suits are the ones to wear to parties, weddings, etc. They are more stylish than business suits.

LOL... I've never worn a suit in my life even though I have 2 of them hanging in the wardrobe :P.
And how does that help him Chaos.. Or are you suggesting him to come and pick those up for tomorrow's meeting :P...

 switch ..

@goldie

what anish said is quite correct .... formals are 3 piece suits and business suits are 2 piece .. in a simple manner, a business suit can be quite relaxed as to a formal suit ..do search for some sites of van heusen , mans world or something .. u might get more info.

it's quite simple actually. formal suits comes in a variety of colors lets say u can wear white, turquoise and all the lighter shades (avoid the gaudy Govinda type colors) as well as darker shades and can be worn on parties and functions. these can be mixed and matched with the casual T-Shirts, short shirts which are not tucked in and can be worn without bothering about a tie or matching shoes. on the other hand, business suits are generally dark in color usually black, dark grey and these can be plain or pin striped. but there is a dressing code attached. u have to wear only Shirts which should be neatly tucked in and a matching tie is a must to go with it. not to forget neatly polished black oxford shoes or for that matter any black leather shoes. IMHO. hope this helps u and ur dad.
