Buying a 4-inch ipod touch for apps

Hi guys,
I'm about to buy the latest ipod touch 32gb in India on ebay. The main reason I'm buying is to use lots of productivity apps when I'm outside.
I have internet at home , but it won't be available everywhere I go and so I want to find out the apps that requires internet to use it. I don't have any app in my mind right now , so I want to browse the apps that are available in the app store and see if it needs internet to use it.
How do I browse the apps ? Do I need an apple account ? I can't find any apps in the apple website.

See most apps might require internet. You have any idea as of now what kind of apps you would want ? Because since iPod touch won't have internet (3G) then it would be just a music player outside.
Instead i suggest search for a iPhone 4 unlocked used and would cost probably in and around the touch with all apps after you update to iOS 6 and even navigation using google maps and 3G and everything.
If you do not want to use phone feature, your wish. Just pop in a SIM card and use delicately for internet access, making it hotspot and what not.

Thanks mate.. I have'nt chosen any app yet. But I want apps for money management , vocabulary , sleep cycle , fitness and I want to read ebooks too (Idk how efficient it'd be in 4-inch screen.).
Also do I need internet to talk to Siri ? To set reminder's and stuff ?
About the iphone 4 (It does'nt have Siri and 4s would be more than 25K I guess). The itouch is on ebay for 17k and if I use a 7% coupon , I can buy it for 15K-16K . Looked damn cheap for that price.
Also in the apps description , I could'nt find any info if I need internet to use the app. Any idea ?[DOUBLEPOST=1364665839][/DOUBLEPOST]Does this need internet on the run ?

SIRI is a novelty and will wear out soon believe me. And yes it does require Internet connection to use Siri even for stuff like setting reminders and all.
I suggest buying iPhone 4 from USA to get it for a lot less. Also most apps on app store don't mention that they require Internet but in most cases they do.
With iPhone 4 you can get google search with voice which is better than Siri for searching.
The setting of reminders and all by talking will be more frustrating than useful.
Forget about reading ebooks on tiny screens be it 4" or 3.5"

Thanks mate.. A guy told me he can get me an iphone4s for ~25K (through customs) , but no warranty . Should I go for it?
Can I get a 2nd hand iphone 5 for <30k?
How is the android apps compared to apple? Will I get the same / similar apps for android?
And how much would it cost me to get it from US?

I am pretty sure if you know of someone who is coming from US, you can get an iPhone 4 for 15K INR or less. I got my wife's iPhone 4 for 325$ in November 2011 so you know the rates must have fallen even more.
Don't worry about warranty since apple products usually don't just die or go bad. But yes when bought from outside India, iPhone will not have any warranty.
Getting second hand iPhone 5 for under 30K might not be possible.
All the usual apps you will get on android as well as iOS so nothing much to talk about there. It is a general thinking that iOS apps are more polished and all but functionality wise apps on both platforms are almost same. You won't miss out on anything if you went with either of them.
You can buy from ebay or something and use PPO Box or SNS or something to get the phone shipped but then the customs will depend on the assessed value so even if you got an iPhone 4 for 250$ the Indian customs might assess at 25K and charge the customs accordingly. Sorry but you don't have control over that.

The main reason i am mentioning iPhone 4 is because looks like your use is not some hardcore and hence you have no reason to go for latest stuff. In fact buy what you need and instead of iPod i am suggesting iPhone 4.

Hm.. Actually no one is know is coming from the US in the next 3 months. And even if I'm buying from the U.S , instead of going for iphone4 for 15K , I can get the nexus 4 for pretty much the same from the US right? Nexus4 > iphone4 ??
Nexus 4 = 299$ ? Just 2-3K more than 15k? Now that you have mentioned android apps are pretty much the same as apple apps. ?
