Graphic Cards Buying a Graphic Card

Hi

I am using a pc with the following configration:

Pentium E5200
G31 S2l
2GB Kingston
500 GB HDD
DVD writer

First of all i would like to know if i can play games like Fifa 2009, Crysis warhead with the above configration.

I am looking for a low budget graphic card for my PC which i want to buy from USA.

1. Please tell me which one sould i go with & with card comes here costlier as compared to when i import the same from USA.

2. Is it better to buy from USA as compared to India?

3. I would be buying it via US Credit card from any website which you could suggest me (of USA) which is good & whose rates are better than the others..

Max Budget: Rs.4000/-

I suggest getting budget cards here locally as price difference is not much
outside price + shipping> local purchase for cards arnd 4k.

4670 frm sapphire or 9600gt frm XFX

Could be any card unless you tell us the resolution you play or the monitor size. :)

+1
Please mention display size/gaming res. as well as the current power supply!
An HD 4670 will fit your requirement provided you're gonna run it at >19''/1440x900

You can also consider a used 9600GT/9600GSO(G92 one).

First u have to buy a very good PSU then think of a GPU :p

Thanks for the replies.

I am using the bijli cabinet with its default 450w smps & i am using 15" HCL's monitor No.HCM580M.

What role does a good / normal PSU have in a Graphic card setup ?

4670 is enough for a 15".
Underpowerd computers face freequent shutdowns, crashes and in worst cases hardware failure.

4670 is good for 15" but hd 4770 wud be damn futureproof if considering upgrading to lcd.
i bought the msi hd4770 to my frnd only 95$.here its too costly like 7.5-8k.
and its nt that heavy on psu thanks to 40nm fabrication....
and 4770>>>4670

My budget is certainly not more than 4K but i suppose if u bought it for 95$ some time ago then i might get it now within my budget of 4K from US.

Secondly, I am not going to hv shipping charges as i will be asking any of my friends to buy it for me and deliver it to me when they come here in India.

Pls also suggest me some USA sites for buying these cards & by the way, what will happen to its warranty?

Regards

You can use newegg, tigerdirect, dealextreme . But you have to provide the shipping charge to hongkong to aditya infotech to avail any rma service. :(

I heard that 4670 is available as low as 3900/- in India. Check with the local distributors/dealers. You should get it around 4k. :)

u can get 4670 for 3k.........but its not worth bcoz warranty wont be applicaple in india. Anything goes wrong it will be a problem. Spend 1k more & get a card locally.

But its ur choice:hap2:

ya the warranty thing if u have sum1 der
only den purchase it from states.......otherwise u would b in fix!!!

tell ur frnd to check d card der.... 99.999% cards work like charm.

I searched newegg.com and the following details are found:

This card is coming in 54$ after the mail in rebate.

Q1. Can anyone tell its price in India right now?

Q2. What is mail in rebate?

Q3. Is this card better than 9800 GT cards?

Q4 Please also tell how do i calculate $ payment in INR with shipping etc?

Q5. Is it really worth buying it from there (I will get it checked from my friend after purchase)?

Q6. What happens if the product which is shipped through newegg.com if faulty, do they replace it right away?

1. Somewhat around 4k.

2,4,5&6.

You have to send a coupon or something which will come with the package to claim the rebate. But you have to be in states. Moreover, maximum people complained about huge delay or not getting at all the rebate. You can source anything from US thru' KMD or Fizz, but the they can't provide you the mail-in rebate. So it will be costlier than India. Hence, not worth it. If the card is dead, you have to send it to newegg and bear the shipping. Simply, you should not buy anything from US if that is available in India and costs almost same or 10$+-.

3. No. 4670<9600GT<9800GT
