These days load shedding has been restarted in Nvai Mumbai which has led to a decison to buy a inverter by my folks. Now i need some help in choosing the brand of the main unit as well as the battery and the approx cost of the system. My need would not be very much , even a 600VA or 800VA system would do .Also any particular place to purchase the inverter ?

Cheers:hap2:

well u can go for a 800va luminous pure sinewave inverter
n couple wid a eagle pitcher battery also by luminous...whole setup will cost u around 14k.
this will give u a backup of about 3-3.5 hrs on 5 tubelights n 3 fans.

From what I have heard Su-Kam pure sine wave inverters are very good. A 800va model with 150ah batteries should cost 13-14k.

its been 5 years with a SU KAM inverter 1kva i think or wht ever with 2 batteries , the model is good , trouble free no problems at all. and the back up time is very decent . BTW from my experience buy AAMARON batteries .

hi members need a invertor the requirement is quite high should be able to run around 30-40 comps and 3 air conditioners and the usual 3-4 tubelights which one is recommended and the approx damages

3 ACs?????Then i suggest you to buy a generator than a Inverter!

BTW whats the main difference between UPS and Inverter?Which one is better?

why don't u try microtek models with external 12 volt battery. i am also using the same at my house. its gud with 2 year warranty. you can also opt for high end microtek models like sinewave inverters..

Sorry for posting in old thread but didnt want to create another thread.

Ok heres the case:

I have a PC(normal not power hungry,P4 based) with APC UPS which provides backup of ~10min MAX.

So iam looking for better UPS/Inverter(BTW Whats the diff b/n a inverter and UPS?) that can provide backup for atleast 2-3hr with 1PC,1TV,3 Tubes and 1 Fan.

Please suggest the model or make i should go.I need to purchase it in this week.
