Buying a mobile phone from Ebay.com

I thought of buying a mobile from ebay.com(product location: US) and get it shipped here to India.

Does anyone have any experience of such a thing? I mean the customs and all.
I read in the Customs Act that mobile handsets are exempted from custom duty.

Now guys tell me the pros and cons of doing such a thing, the savings in cost of the phone is to the tune of 10K if i buy from ebay.com.

^^^ yes but if you check on 20north breakup you are actually charged custom on mobile. Further some deals are not on GEB i.e. global easy buy of ebay specially which are providing global shipping. But all said GEB is very economical and close to rate of KMD.
