Buying a new console from States :23:

Hi,

This is probably my first post here, i am primarily a PC gamer, i have plans to buy a new console, I am considering PS3 over X360, because of the easy HD expansion that Sony gives and sheer power of the PS3, i like the controller as well ;).
I have plans to get it from the states, thinking of getting PS3 Slim 160GB from Bestbuy, will ask a friend to get it for me, thus no extra charges i suppose.
Is 229.99$ = 12,388.41 INR, a fair enough price, will have to wait until April end probably, thus price changes might come into play.

Thus questions i have are :
1. PS3 > XBox360 ? (I'll primarily play Fifa :P, and yeah i am happy with PS exclusive titles )
2. Is it worth the wait and the difference in money, to get it from US ?:unsure:
3. Any better deals ?
4. Which HD can i use with the model specified?
 
1. PS3. Less noisy, far better exclusives, free online MP, BR-player.
2. Yes but not by a lot (3k - 5k max). BUT you wouldn't be getting any warranty. However newer Slims/Super Slims are much more reliable so that risk is somewhat lesser now.

4. Any laptop sized HDD is compatible. SSDs don't show much improvement in performance (in case you were wondering).

Bigger question is, why buy a new Xbox/PS3 now when the next gen consoles are around the corner. Buy 2nd hand and cut down your losses in the future. Plus with 2nd hand consoles you have better chances of getting a hackable system (Xbox atleast).
 
Uhmm, you probably made me drop the idea by talking about te next gen consoles, around the corner! Had been thinking the same, you stamped it! :P
