My cousin is buying a used Acer A500 from a dealer.

But he is not giving any personal warranties & is asking him to check it out before buying.

It is still under ACER warranty for another 6 months (6months old)

As this is his 1st tablet purchase he has no idea about what he should look out for.

I shall be grateful if you can give a list of the things he should check to ensure that he is not given a lemon.

Thanks for advising

The usual things:

Physical condition,

Touchscreen sensitivity,

Loudspeakers,

Camera

Wifi (if possible)

To add:

1. check out the memory card slot - take your own with your content and play off/read off a few files - incl. pinch to zoom kind of features.

2. check if the charging is happening or not.

3. Play a few games/rotate the tab to confirm that sensors are working.

4. WiFi - take another phone with hotspot func. and try out.

Unfortunately, buying used electronics in India carries risk and needs a good slice of luck to get a genuine seller.

All the best!
